She woke up in an all white room.

There was only one door.

"Where am I?"

She was so confused.

She took notice to the door again and walked towards it.

Her hand reached the doorknob and twisted it.

It wouldn't open. Panic rushed over her, white rooms? Not her thing.

"Hello," she said, banging on the door.

"Hello!" A little louder this time.

Nothing.

"Okay, Simmons. What to do, what to do? Oh, uhm, think of a happy place."

She closed her eyes and when she opened them, she was at home.

"What the?"

Her mother came around the corner and smiled.

"Jemma." "Mum."

They hugged. "I missed you."

Jemma put thought into this.

"I thought of a place I wanted to be, and I was there."

She opened her eyes, and she was at a graveyard.

"Gramma."

She sat next to the headstone and touched it.

"I miss you. I really need you. Fitz isn't okay, he-oh my god, Fitz."

She closed her eyes.

She sighed, realizing what she was doing, and opened her eyes.

There she was. She was sitting against the glass lab doors.

Simmons turned around and there he was.

"Fitz," she whispered, putting her hand up to the glass.

"You're alive."

A tear fell down her cheek.

"Fitz."

She tapped on the glass. He turned around.

Those blue eyes. That curly hair.

"Yeah?"

That Scottish accent.

She smiled and wiped away a tear.

"I know how to fix this!"

~.~

"Wait, what are you doing? You can't be in here."

Just because she knew how to fix it, doesn't mean he can be in here.

She remembered he did this when it all actually happened.

"We're gonna fix this, together."

She smiled, God, I love him, she thought.

They began to work on the anti-serum, and injected it in the third mouse.

Everyone was gathered around the glass, watching, just like they had been before.

Nothing happened, a smile of relief, and then.

She looked down, it died.

Fitz and her looked at each other.

Of course, Simmons knew everything that would happen but she didn't care.

"Can I have a moment alone with Fitz?"

They all nodded.

Instead of what happened last time, she did something different.

"Fitz." He looked at her.

She walked closer to him until she was about 2 feet away.

His eyes were glistening with tears that were forming.

"Don't cry," she said, and stroked his cheek.

He looked up at the ceiling, she wished this was how it really happened.

"How do you expect me not to cry? We have to fix this, Jemma. You can't die. I refuse to let you die."

She was so proud of him. He had accomplished so much in his life and she never took the time to notice.

"Hey, hey! Leo."

This caused him to look down at her, she only used his name for important purposes.

She hesitated, and smiled.

Before she, and he, knew it, she interlocked her fingers with his.

"I should've said this sooner."

Leo looked down at her, and furrowed his brows.

"I, I love you, Fitz."

"I love you too, Jemma."

She shook her head.

"No, I love you," she said, putting emphasis on love.

His eyes widened and a smile appeared on his face.

There was a moment of silence and Jemma untangled their fingers.

She walked over to an empty spot on the lab counter and hopped up on it.

"Come here." She gestured him to walk over there.

He did as she said, and stood in front of her.

"I'm sorry it took a while to catch up, I was just oblivious," she said, from her previous conversation.

"I love you, Leo."

She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.

He kissed her back, with so much more passion and she closed her eyes.

She pulled away and he smiled.

She tried to take in what she saw.

Blue eyes, curly hair, love in his eyes, and she tried to take in his voice as he said, "I have always loved you, Jemma."

She nodded, "I know, Fitz. Now, listen..everything will be okay but I have to go. And sorry if this hurts."

"What?"

"I love you," she said, before closing her eyes and picturing the white room.

But, when she opened her eyes, Skye was sitting next to her.

"Good, you're awake. I was starting to get worried."

"Awake?" She asked, confused.

"I told Coulson that you needed to see Fitz, alive and well, and asked him if there was anyway you could."

It all hit Simmons.

"He gave me the serum that puts me in a deep sleep, letting me imagine what I want..no interruptions."

"I knew you would dream him. I just didn't know what it would be," Skye said, dragging out the last word.

"Oh, you wanna know what I dreamt? Not gonna happen. I do not tell anyone my dreams, except Fitz."

She paused.

"But I did dream of him," she said, giggling.

"And he's an excellent kisser."

Skye's mouth dropped and she squealed.

"Yes! Why wasn't this real?"

Jemma shook her head.

"I don't know, but I wish it was."
