Lila pov Rushing through the front door of my house, slinging my bag over my shoulder trying to put my shoe on at the same time I lock the door shoving the keys into my pocket, stepping off the porch onto the damp tarmac of the drive way. I start walking to the high school at a moderate pace, as cards pass some honk at me as there was no pavement for me to walk on.
Once outside the school I hop up the steps and into the school building looking to my right to see a long hallway then to my left seeing the office. I walk up to the office opening the door peaking in. "Come in dear" the woman said at the desk. Stepping into the warm office I walk up to the desk with a small smile on my face. "Good morning miss can I have my timetable please?" I ask with my hands clasped in front of me.
"Of course, what's your name?" She responds holding two sheets in her hands "Lila Edwards Ma'am" I say with a bigger smile hoping to make a good impression. "Here you go dear and make sure the teachers sign the slip and return it here at the end of the day okay?" She asks handing over a small yellow slip and the timetable "of course, also may I say your cardigan is very nice" I say pointing out her woolly cardigan she looks at me in slight surprise before smiling "thank you dear, I wish everyone was as polite as you, have a great first day " she responds smiling still the corners of her eyes making crow's feet.
I nod turning around walking out the office going to my locker and taking out the books I would need. I feel a tap on my shoulder I turn around with wider eyes. "You're Lila Edwards right?" A boy a lot taller than me asked he had black hair brown eyes who was of Asian heritage. I nod smiling "indeed I am " I responded before closing my locker. "I'm Eric I'm on the newspaper of the school I'm here to do your feature" he said. I shake my quickly "please I don't want to be in a feature" I say quickly.
He laughs slightly "okay chill no feature, would you like help finding classes?" He asks. I nod "can you help me to the art lesson?" I ask in return. Looking at my time table he points out the directions before walking off.
Pouting slightly before heading into the general direction of the art class, by the time I get there everyone was in their seats, I gently knock on the door before walking in. Walking up to the teachers desk "you must be Lila?" The teacher asks standing up causing all eyes on me "yes ma'am" I say nodding my head lightly my mint hair swaying. "Please introduce yourself" she said taking my slip.
"Hello everyone I'm Lila it's nice to meet you all" I say looking forward with a big smile and my hands in front of me, some people roll their, some smile back I notice at the back theirs a girl with black hair smiling widely at me, I nod my head slightly taking my slip "you can sit next to Alice, Alice please raise your hand" the teacher said sitting down. The same black haired girl raises her hand into the air. Walking up to her I set my bag on the back of the chair, sitting down she turns to me "hi I'm Alice it's nice to meet you" Alice says with a smile. I smile back "it's nice to meet you too, you're really pretty and you have amazing fashion" I say gushing over her outfit. Her smile somehow widens "do you want to sit with my family and I at dinner?" She asks quietly I nod my head "if you don't mind." I say in return
We talk for majority of the lesson while drawing, people often staring at us, the bell rings to the next lessons "I'll see you at dinner" I say walking up to English.
~dinner time~ The bell rings for lunch, getting up from my seat placing everything into my bag, slinging my bag back into my back I roughly throw my hair up into a messy pony tail, before walking down the corridor everyone still staring at me. Walking into the canteen, I look around before I see Alice waving at me and smiling. Smiling widely at her I make my way over to her, all eyes following me. I approach Alice and her family once I get to the table Alice pulls out a chair for me "thank you" I say sitting down with my bag in my lap.
"Lila this is my family, that's Edward, Emmett, Jasper and Rosalie" she said introducing everyone. Rosalie was a beautiful blonde model like lady who radiated coldness, Edward seems like the type to sit and observe, Emmett gives a mischievous energy and Jasper seems really closed off.
I smile over at Rosalie "you are very beautiful, I'm sorry if I'm invading your space once I find friends I will leave" saying with eye contact, her eyes widen a tiny bit before going back to her cold stature she stiffly nods, looking over at Emmett "surely all them eggs aren't for you right? Dont you need more nutrients to help with muscle right?" I ask with furrowed brows my head tilted to the side. He lets out a chuckle making everyone to turn around to us again. "Why is everyone staring?" I ask with a small pout "we don't talk to anyone outside our family" Alice said with a small smile that didn't meet her eyes.
I nod slowly. "How tall are you?" Emmett suddenly asks I look over to him "I'm 5ft" I respond he looks at me in slight shock "you're a munchkin" he said laughing. I huff crossing my arms and jutting out my bottom lip. I see Edward stifle a laugh and Jasper and Rosalie both smile a bit. I burst out giggling "then what are you a giant?" I respond smiling making my eyes turn into crescent moons. Before he could reply the bell rings, with a small huff I stand up stretching putting my bag on one shoulder "what do you have now?" Alice asks "I have history" I respond "Jasper will show you he's in the same class" Alice said making Jasper and I look at each other. Offering a small smile he nods back.
As the others walk in front Jasper and I trail behind in silence as the others talk. Making it to the Class he opens the door for me then walks past going to his seat. Yet again I introduce myself to the class. The only seat left is in front of Jasper and next to a girl with brown almost black hair and glasses. I sit down next to the girl "hi I'm Angela" she said after getting my stuff out "hello" I say in return. As everyone started notes I feel a tap on my back I turn around seeing Jasper "do you have a pen I can borrow?" He asked just above a whisper. I nod turning back around grabbing a pen and sliding it onto his desk.
At the end of the lesson everyone quickly left the class but I took my time packing up my back I look up seeing Jasper stood by the door waiting, I smile before walking to him we both walk in the direction of the office I spot Edward storm out before going in and leaving my slip on the desk and walking back out, seeing Jasper and Edward talk I walk around them before heading outside to see it slightly raining, sighing I walk down the steps before walking out of the parking lot. As I walk cars zoom by one slows down stopping next to me "do you want a ride home?" I turn to see Rosalie and Alice in a red car. I shake my head "no it's okay I don't live that far" I say Rosalie looks at me before getting out of the car and walking up to me, she wraps her hand around my wrist before dragging me to the car. I look up at her, her face stern I look back down and get into the car, once I'm in she gets in, telling them my address when we arrive to my house, I see both Rosalie and Alice look at each other with a look in their eyes before watching me get out. "Thank you for this" I say smiling slightly before walking up to my house and unlocking the door to get in. Once I'm in I throw my bag on the floor and sitting on the sofa with a long sigh.
