Minji's pov.

I was in the training room when the boys entered. I was working out, as the guys didn't let me anywhere near any form of weapon unless I was surrounded by soldiers, and I preferred to train without feeling uncomfortable. I had heard them coming a little before they entered, their heeled black loafers tapping on the polished wooden floors of the halls and their chipper voices filling the air. They walked into the room and I raised my brow at their unusually happy faces. Even Taehyung and Jungkook looked happier than usual, which almost made me smile too. They made their way over to me, Namjoon almost falling over a dumbbell in the process, causing me to laugh slightly. I sat on the exercise bike as they reached me.

"We've got news," Namjoon blurted out, and I looked at him blankly. "Hello to you too," I replied, and he laughed. I noticed Jimin look me up and down out of the corner of my eye. I looked back at him. He smirked. I rolled my eyes and returned my gaze back to Namjoon. "So, spit it out then," I encouraged, and he smiled, his dimples showing. I hadn't talked to him since what had happened earlier that day, and it wasn't on my list of things to bring up either. He stared at me a little before proceeding.

"We're having a ball," He announced, and I laughed. "That makes some of us," I replied, but when none of them got the joke, I shook my head. "Forget I said anything. That's fun. You'll want me to stay out of your way then," I said to their confused faces, and he laughed. "Not quite," He chuckled. "You're gonna be there," Jin said, and I raised my eyebrows. "Balls aren't really my thing," I stated, and Jimin choked at my statement, before pretending it was a cough. "Fine, I'll go to your ball, since you seem to be very excited about it. What's the occasion?" I asked. Yoongi seemed tuned in properly for the first time since the conversation started. "We can't just celebrate life?" He joked, and I laughed. "That's not how this industry works," I replied, and he smiled. I hadn't forgotten my conversation with Yoongi, and he didn't seem to have either. I picked up my bottle of water and took a sip.

"We're forming an alliance."

I almost spat out said water.

"Surely you don't need to? I mean, come on, Bangtan Boys? Why?" I questioned. "You're correct. We don't have to. But we've always had a sort of alliance with this group already, and it's not permanent. They know too much, Minji. They know about you being here, they witnessed what happened on Friday. They're a small enough group, but we can't risk it. They need money, we need to keep you safe. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right?" Namjoon admitted, and I nodded slowly. "I see. So, who's the group?" I asked, and he raised his index finger to his lips. "You'll meet them at the ball tomorrow. But for now, we've gotta get you looking the part, right?" My eyes narrowed at his phrase. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly. Hobi made his way to the door, giggling to himself.

"What he's trying to say is... get ready, we're going shopping!"

After I had showered and gotten dressed for the second time that day, we all piled into the car. It was surprisingly big and seated far more than we needed, but Jimin sat beside me. "How are you feeling?" I asked, and he smirked. "Better now," He replied. "You're such a flirt," I remarked. He just winked and said no more. As we were driven to our location, I began to ask some questions.

"So, who's all going to this ball?" I asked, and Namjoon looked up from the book he was reading. "Oh, you know. Anyone important. Any event is a good place to show off. Their soldiers and people from their line, ours, some close friends... nothing major. We can't have you running off, can we?" He said, and I got chills at those words. I knew I'd be on a very tight leash, but saying it out loud was something else. I decided to change the subject. "How do they know about Friday?" I asked quietly. "I thought it was safe..?" Namjoon's jaw clenched and I thought he was going to tell me off, but he just sighed. "It was my mistake. One of the members just so happened to be oddly close to one of the bartenders who was there on the night. We dealt with him, so don't worry about it. Not too sure how the guys will take it when they find out he ceases to exist anymore, but they'll deal," He said through gritted teeth. I had to refrain from laughing.
