Jungkook's pov.
The sunlight was peeking through a crack in the doorway. I looked over at Jin, who had been drifting in and out of whatever sleep he could get. He was awake then, his usually smooth lips chapped from dehydration, his eyes barely open. It had been a whole day since the encounter I had endured with the Seok's Underboss, but it had felt like we had been there for an eternity already. Jin hadn't been touched yet, but I was worried that his time would come, and sooner rather than later at that. "Has anyone come by yet?" Jin asked quietly. I shook my head. "Not that I can recall. I'm sure they would've awoken us if we were wanted," I whispered sourly. Jin nodded before leaning his head onto the back of the chair he was seated on. The area where the ropes met my skin was both itchy and a bright shade of red. It was still difficult for me to see out of my right eye, the bruise around it seeming to get bigger rather than smaller, but I wasn't in as much pain anymore. I knew the cheek marks were to scar, as was the carving of the L.J.H. on my neck, but I didn't care for battle scars at that moment in time. The loud sound of footsteps interrupted my thoughts, and I turned to Jin in fear. He shook his head at me, and, even though no words were shared, I was sure I interpreted his emotions correctly.
They weren't here for me. They were here for him.
As Jae- Hwa and a soldier I had never seen before burst into the room, my head turned to them. I noticed Jae-Hwa smirk at me, almost admiring his work, before looking at Jin. As the solider moved towards Jin, Jae-Hwa spoke.
"I had my fun with your little friend here, but you're the real one I want to have fun with," He growled. Jin didn't even bat an eye, despite being exhausted and weak. "What are you gonna do? Are you gonna kill me, Mr. J?" He replied sarcastically, and I had to refrain from letting out whatever small laugh I could conjure. I noticed the soldier untying the ropes that restricted Jin's hands, feet and torso. When the last one was untied, Jin made an attempt to grab the gun that was nestled in the soldier's waistband, but the soldier had known better, and in one swift motion, Jin was standing up, hands behind his back, being brought towards the door.
"Oh, don't you worry," Jae-Hwa laughed, looking at me. "He's not going anywhere. You see, over here, by the doorway, we have some hidden mechanisms. I thought I would give you a visual presentation of how we use them." As the soldier tightened his grasp on Jin's arms, Jae-Hwa made his way over to the door that was facing me. He was tall enough to reach the ceiling without standing on anything, but he still used a chair to reach it anyway. I supposed that was a way of showing his superiority. How he could have what he wanted, even if he didn't need it. He moved two of the tiles on the ceiling, and two ropes fell down. They weren't necessarily short, but they weren't long enough to be comfortable either. As he got down from the chair, Jin was taken over to these ropes, and the soldier tightened them around his wrists. His front was to the door, and his back was facing the rest of us. As the soldier produced a pair of scissors from his pocket and began to cut the shirt that Jin was wearing, I was afraid I already knew what was to happen. As Jae-Hwa produced a cat from behind his back, I knew I was right.
No, not the kind of cat that you keep as a pet and cuddle with, although, how I wished it was.
A cat o'nine tails. A horrible, waxed leather nine - tailed whip with knots tied and metal beads placed at the ends. I had never seen one in real life, but I had been taught about them by Namjoon hyung. He had encountered them before, and he had said it gave unimaginable pain. I tried to call out to Jin, but what was the use? As his shirt was cut off, I assumed he knew what fate he was in for already, even while facing the opposite direction.
"You work out often, Jin?" Jae-Hwa asked, marveling at his unclothed broad shoulders and defined back. Jin didn't say a word back. Jae-Hwa laughed. "Here's the deal, Jin. I need some form of entertainment, so twenty whips will be in order." I interrupted him. "You are sick, do you know that?" I spat, and he just chuckled some more. "I know, little one, I know."
"So, twenty is inevitable. I'm sure you understand. But, you both look a little ... drained. So, I'll offer you this. Ten extra whips for water for both of you. Another ten for food for both of you. Take it or leave it, but you must chose now. No trials."
My eyes widened at the sadism coming from the man. "Don't Jin, it's not worth it," I almost shouted. I heard Jin sigh quietly. "It's bad, isn't it," He asked. I nodded before realizing that I could not be seen. "Nine tails," I said quietly. Jin hung his head.
"Water. Leave the food."
Jae-Hwa smiled. "Perfect," He remarked, holding the whip in his hands. "Then, lets get started! Gosh, this is exciting, isn't it? Count as they come. And you, small one. One sound and you'll be getting the same, minus the beneficial aspects."
The sound of the first hit was enough to make my skin crawl, but Jin's loud yell from the pain was much worse. As Jae-Hwa moved his position, I could see the bright red mark across Jin's back, each of the 'tails' cutting into his skin in various places. "Count," Jae-Hwa yelled. "One!" Jin yelled back, his voice breaking. I didn't know if he was to be able to take it. The solider took a seat on the chair that Jin had been sitting in before, watching as if his superior was putting on a show for him.
"Two!"
"Three!"
"Four!"
"F- fuck, five!"
"Six!"
"S-seven!"
"Eight!"
"N-nine!"
"Ten!"By the time Jae-Hwa got to twenty, Jin's voice was barely audible, and he sounded breathless with every number. His yells were scratchy and whiny, and I could barely watch as yet another wound began to bleed due to the areas where the metal balls hit on his skin. The large amounts of envy I usually felt had disappeared as his weak figure hung over limply.
"I- I can't take anymore-" Jin choked, but Jae-Hwa just laughed at him. "You should've thought about that before hand. You could've been done by now but-"
He cut himself off by the sound of another whip hitting the skin of Jin's back. Jin yelled out in pain, and Jae-Hwa smirked.
"Twenty one."
