Imagine: Sam Winchester x Daughter!Reader. Sam meets his daughter's boyfriend for the first time with his sons.
"It'll be fine," you told yourself. 'Don't worry,' you said, taking in a deep breath. Your dad hates him, he says something embarrassing, a monster comes in the middle of dinner. Just like that, all your reassurances leave and the worst case scenarios set in.
To say you were nervous was a major understatement. Your father was Sam Winchester - part of the greatest hunting trio, alongside your Uncle Dean and your Uncle Cas. In most cases, Sam was the most understanding. Dean usually was the gruff one who just wanted to get the job done, no questions asked. Cas was the powerful one who did whatever was necessary, and your father was the one who made sure the three of them didn't do something that they would later regret.
But, when it came to the group finding out that you had a boyfriend, Sam was definitely not the most understanding. You remember it vividly.
You took a deep breath before you walked down the stairs from your room in the Bunker. Today was the day. You needed to tell them. You had met a boy at the school you were going to in Kansas. The two of you started off as friends but soon you became more than that. You didn't want to say anything until you were absolutely sure you liked him. But, after six months, it was time to tell your family.
You walked into the kitchen and saw your whole family sitting there. Uncle Cas and Uncle Dean were discussing a case while your father and your two older brothers were helping cook breakfast. "Good morning," you said with a smile.
"Look who's finally up," Uncle Dean said with a smile. "Listen, um, there's something I want to tell you guys," you stated. You hoped that they would all continue to do their thing and only half listen, but they all stopped and focused their attention on you. There's no going back now.
"I have a boyfriend," you stated. There's no point in trying to ease them in. "What?" Sam asked. "You have a boyfriend?" Uncle Cas questioned. "Are you kidding?" Uncle Dean asked, looking for signs that you were joking. "It doesn't appear that she is," Uncle Cas replied. "Is this the boy at school who you're always hanging out with?" you oldest brother, John asked you. "Oh yeah, I've seen him around too," your other brother, Bobby added. "You two knew?" Sam questioned, slightly glaring at them.
"Y/N, you do understand the dangers of dating someone when you're a hunter, right?" Uncle Dean asked. "Yes, but I've been very careful. I know what I'm doing, and if I ever need help then I will ask for it," you replied. "And this boy is, uh, good to you?" Uncle Cas asked.
"Yes, very," you answered. Uncle Cas and Uncle Dean both seem satisfied with your answers, so you looked to your older brothers and your father. Your father was uncharacteristically quiet. He was only quiet when he was upset, and everyone in the room knew that too.
"I want to meet him," Sam stated after a few, very long, moments. Your heart skipped a beat. "Uh-oh," John teased as Bobby snickered. "You do?" you asked. "We do too," Bobby continued, joining in, making you send a playful glare their way. "A family dinner sounds nice," Uncle Dean added. 'Oh God, my boyfriend's going to die,' you thought in your head. But out loud, you said, "When?"
"Tonight," your father told you. You wanted to give your boyfriend more of a heads-up, but by the look on your father's face, it was non-negotiable. "Where? Clearly we can't have it in the Bunker," you replied. "Uncle Dean's favorite diner. It's close and quiet. Perfect for meeting new people," your father said.
You let out a slow breath before saying, "Sounds perfect. I'll let him know," you responded, practically running out of the room. You pulled out your phone and texted your boyfriend to let him know that he had to come to dinner tonight.
A few minutes later, you heard a knock on the door of your bedroom. When you opened it, you saw Uncle Dean there with Uncle Cas. "Can we come in?" Uncle Cas asked. You nodded your head and went to sit on your bed, letting them.
"Dinner might end up being a disaster," Uncle Dean said. "Thanks for the vote of confidence," you told him sarcastically, let out a nervous breath. Dean let out a small chuckle. "You get that sarcasm from me," he stated, almost proud.
"We came up here to tell you that we'll be at dinner too," Uncle Cas told you. "Well, yeah, I figured," you replied. "No, what Cas is trying to say is that we've got your back. Obviously, we're going to make sure he is treating you well, but if things start to go South, we'll step in," Uncle Dean stated, making you smile.
"Thanks you guys, that makes me feel a lot better about tonight," you replied, giving them a smile. It felt like a huge weight lifted off your shoulders knowing that you had backup just in case. You gave them both a hug and then they left and you got ready for dinner.
A little while later, your entire family was seated inside the diner while you waited outside for your boyfriend. When he came into view you practically ran to him and started rambling off with warnings about what your family was like and what to talk about and what not to talk about.
After a couple of minutes, your boyfriend stopped you, told you to breathe and not to worry too much and the two of you walked inside. When you walked in, everyone in your family stared at the two of you. You felt the butterflies go rampant in your stomach as you sat down and introduced your boyfriend to your family.
A few minutes in, no one has died yet.
It didn't take long for your father to start interrogating your boyfriend, but a few questions in, and Uncle Dean and Uncle Cas stepped in to divert the conversation. You sent them both a silent "thank you" and the rest of dinner seemed to go well.
At the end of dinner, you all stood to leave and walked outside of the diner. To your utmost surprise, your father offered to shake his hand. Your boyfriend shook it with a smile, and Uncle Dean and Uncle Cas followed suit, shaking your boyfriend's hand as well.
Then Bobby shook his hand with a smile, and you looked to John. John looked between the group for a moment before shaking your boyfriend's hand and looked him dead in the eyes, saying, "You seem like a really nice guy, but I'm going to give you this warning, because you don't want it from anyone else in the family. If you hurt her, you'll have all five of us to answer to. And we're excellent at tracking people down."
You looked in horror at your brother as your boyfriend looked terrified. You looked to your uncles for help but this time they took John's side. "Okay, come on," you stated, taking your boyfriend's hand and leading him away from your family. You said goodbye to him and a few minutes later, returned.
You glared at your older brother as he started making jokes about how scared your boyfriend was. You slapped him in the arm and acted mad, but when they started telling you how much they actually liked your boyfriend, you couldn't help but smile. Dinner wasn't perfect, but in the end, it turned out really good. You loved you family and you loved your boyfriend, and you couldn't wait to move forward with him.
Always Keep Fighting!
