Chapter 42

"Do you love him? Did you fell in love at the middle of your mission?" William asks her daughter coldly when she refuse to go with him.

"No," she lies blatantly. William gave her a look, "not yet." she added with a sigh, her eyes lowering to her to focus her attention on the white sheet covering her body.

No matter how she wants to do it, she can never lie to her father. William always finds a way to know when she's lying or was it because he had known her for so long that he can read her like an open book? Whatever the reason is, there's one clear thing, she can't lie to her adopted father.

Eun Byeol wasn't stupid about what she feels, she's just confused because she never felt anything like this before. Finding herself lost in Jungkook's eyes, enjoying his company more than she enjoys the time with the other boys, the urge of wanting him to feel safe and not scared, those butterflies on her stomach, the raging beating of her heart and heating of her cheeks whenever he's around. Gosh! All of that feeling are so foreign for her.

William massages his temple as he suddenly felt like he's going to collapse in stress, "This is an outrage, Silver! You shouldn't fall in love with your subject! You shouldn't fall in love to anyone!"

"If it's because of what happened to Grandmama and Grandpapa, please shut up, papa! Their relationship fails because they wanted it to! You ruined your relationship with Mom and I'm not going to let you ruin mine!" Eun Byeol snapped back, eyes glaring daggers towards her adopted father.

William was taken a back. She nevers talks back to him. She's always the compliant daughter he always wants. His fists clenched, teeth gritting and veins popping out as he controls his anger. Never in his life would he wants to hurt his daughter willingly. She grew up with them and she fulfills the void on his heart, the void for his desire for a daughter.

"They are your subject. You're bound to leave them when the contract ends and now that the mastermind is at the custody of the police, you're coming back to US with me."

Eun Byeol didn't say something back, she held her glare with the same intensity as her father to show that it's not what she wants. William does the same, "Silver Asphodel Blackwood."

That's it. He called her with her full name and tone laced with authority. Then again, like what always happens whenever she tries to gain the authority, she cave in.

"Why do you always have to control me? I'm 20 years old, papa! I'm not a child anymore. I can decide for my own. I did owe you my life but it doesn't mean that you can control me. I'm your daughter, not your staff. I'm a human too, I can fall in love and want to experience things I've never experience before." She stated, eyes tearing as she hastily remove the IV on her skin and grabs the Gucci paper bag that he had gave her for her to change her clothes.

William was left standing on his ground, emotionless and seemingly thinking his decisions.
