Chapter 29

While Eun Byeol was busy tending to Jungkook, he excuses himself as he needs to use the comfort room. Of course, it was just his excuse to roam the place. Eun Byeol had her own bathroom inside her room but he still choses the one down the hallway. When they were walking to her chambers, he notice multiple portraits hang strategically on the walls of the hallway. He just wanted to see it for himself.

He stops at the portrait of a little girl no older than 5 (6 years old in korean age). She was wearing a white turtle neck fur dress adorned with a big silk bow at the waist, a white leggings in similar texture and a red dollshoes. Her straight long dark hair cascaded down her back as a small tiara rests on the crown of her head. She was sitting straight on a chair, chin held up as her innocent doe eyes stare directly on the camera. Her face is void of emotion. She was just staring, hugging a plushy with pink dress and blonde hair.

"It was taken 5 months after William brought her here in the house. I can still remember how small she looks, pretty small for her age," his head suddenly whipped towards the direction of the voice. He didn't even notice her arrival, "I can still remember how she clung on William's hand, her big eyes staring innocently at mine. Her skin was so white and her eyes are so round that she almost looks like a porcelain doll."

"You can speak korean?" Jin asks, bewildered of how good her pronunciation was.

"Of course, I'm half korean and I can speak 15 languages fluently." Gabriella answered, smiling softly at him. The crazy and cheerful lady earlier was replaced with a demure and elegant woman he almost question himself if this was the same woman they met earlier.

"Silver's family was killed when cruise ship bounded to England capsizes at the middle of ocean. William was one of the passengers and when he was about to ride the escape boat, he saw Silver, crying on the corner. She had awoken something on William so he scoop her and brought her to the escape boat with him. Weeks after the sinking, no one claimed her so we decided to adopt her. William and I cannot have a child and I always want to have a daughter. When William first brought Silver here, my heart immediately yearns for her. Sadly, she wasn't speaking when she got here, even a small sound, nothing. We just found out her name on the necklace she was wearing." she paused, remembering the first time she saw her, "That Princess Peach plushy she was hugging was one of the things she have with her when the ship sank. She never let it go since and I think she still have it." She walks towards the second portrait.

It was the same girl. She was wearing a ruffled white buttons up under a navy blue long back blazer. Her pants was white and tight and she was wearing a tall black boots typically worn when horseback riding. Her hair was ponytailed to side. Beside her was a dark and tall Thoroughbred. Contrary to the previous portrait, the girl here was now smiling brightly, her eyes turning into cresents and her pink lips pulled into a smile, creating a heart shape and showing her perfect set of teeth.

"It was taken on her first birthday with us. We found out that her birthday was on June 22, a week before the ship accident happened. I decided to gave her her own Pegasus and it was one of the greatest decisions I ever make because she finally spoke to us! After a year of therapy, she finally said her first word," Gabriella smile at the sweet memory, "Thank you, Mom was her first ever word spoken to us. My heart swell when she called me Mom. Finally, my daughter calls me Mom."

Then she moved on to the second one. This time, Eun Byeol looks to be 10 years old. She's sitting on the verdant grass, having a loving look directed to a small black and tan pomeranian, "She named him Onyx because of his black fur. It was her dad's gift for her 10th birthday. She really loves him. Sadly, he died 8 years after. I don't really want to talk about the full story but Silvie wasn't the same after that. The accident really change her and I couldn't blame her. She really loves Onyx so much."

The rest of the portrait were all of the three of them or Eun Byeol alone. You can tell how much they love the girl, she's always on the portraits, never missing one.

"Have you ever thought that maybe, Eun Byeol still have a family out there?" he asks.

"It's been 15 years and no one really looks for someone with the same description as her and it's not like I'm trying to find them. Silvie is contented with us."

"But what if someday, her family comes knocking on the door and wanted to claim her."

"I wouldn't give my daughter away that easily. They abandoned her for 15 years. And we legally adopted her so we have her the full rights to claim her." Gabriella's soft expression turn hard, "If you'll excuse me, I'll go check the food." then she was gone.

"Jin hyung! Where have you been? We thought that you've got eaten by the toilet." Jimin's voice was the first thing that greeted him the moment he enters the bedroom.

"I got lost." The eldest answered, walking towards the sofa where the other members sat.

"You're so stupid, you could've just use the bathroom here." Jungkook said, getting comfortable on queen sized bed. He's face was cleaned up and it looks like he was fresh from the shower. He's also wearing a different clothes which they didn't know where Eun Byeol got. She doesn't have any brother and her father doesn't live here anymore.

Eun Byeol's bedroom was literally covered with pastel purple, white and gold everywhere. Her room was so massive that she have her own living room and refrigerator inside her bedroom, the ceiling was painted to look like the starry night. She even have her own crystal chandelier hang right above the living room where they are hanging out right now.

"I still can't believe that Eun Byeol was the kind of a girl who likes pastel purple. I thought she's more of a black and white girl." Jin commented, taking in the whole bedroom.

"But Purple really suites her. Wealth, wisdom, royalty, nobility, power and ambition." Taehyung stated.

"But I still don't get why she needs to work as a secret agent if she already has this lavish life. She got everything she wants." Hoseok stated, leaning on the backrest of the pastel purple couch while having his ankle on top of his thigh.

"It's because it's what my father wants me to be. Have I mention that he's the director of the security in SIA?" Eun Byeol's voice made them snap their head towards her direction in unison. Where did she went? No one knows.

"Director of Security? No wonder you're good at both physical and weaponry." Yoongi stated.

"Yes, he's the one who trained me, he's my trainer, my teacher and my father. He taught me everything I know when it comes to fighting." Eun Byeol stated, "I've called Manager Sejin and I told him that you're here in my house and there's nothing to worry about." she continues.

"Are you going to show us to Frost?" Taehyung suddenly chimed in to which Jungkook's eyes widen.

"Who's frost?" Jimin asks. He didn't really understand what Gabriella had said earlier because he's still in shock.

"Noona's dog!" Jungkook nearly burst in laughter because of Taehyung's excitement. If only he knows.

"Eun Byeol has a dog?!" Jimin and Hoseok asks in unison. Jin's eyes found Eun Byeol and he catches a glimpse of sadness on her eyes before it turn into a cold look.

"I have, his name was Onyx but he died 2 years ago." Eun Byeol stated, her eyes glossing as she walk towards her bedside table. She pulled the top cabinet and grab a book with purple velvet cover.

She gave the book to Taehyung. It wasn't really a book but a photobook. A photobook full of pictures of a black and tan pomeranian with Eun Byeol. All of the members look through Taehyung's shoulder, muttering comments on how photogenic and cute Onyx was.

"H-how did he dies?" Jin knew it was something to never ask to a pet owner but the curiosity got the best of him especially when her mother said that his death change Eun Byeol so much.

"I rather not talk about that right now. Maybe other time," she heave a sigh, "But do you want to see Frost? I'm going to visit him." all of the members nod their head in unison.
