82. I Trust In Your Unfailing Love

As believers, we are not immune from trials and challenges in our lives. This year has presented one hard season after another and yet we still press on. We could probably all admit to coming before the Lord, pleading for help at some time, just as David did on so many occasions. This Psalm sees him questioning the Lord in desperation. It's good to see David's honesty as he pours out his heart before God. We too can pour out everything to the Lord, without holding back!

"How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord's praise, for he has been good to me."
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭13:1-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Just when it seemed that David was at a very low point, there is a quick turnaround and he appears to be filled with hope! Notice that the situation may not have changed, but as he puts his eyes on the Lord snd unloads all his burdens, David remembers to trust in God's unfailing love! He had obviously experienced it before and now he can rejoice in the salvation he knows can only come from the Lord.

We might not be rid of the virus for quite some time yet but will you offload your burdens at the foot of the Cross and just trust God? Can you rejoice in the midst of the storm, even before the breakthrough? God loves us so much —His love never fails, even throughout a crisis! Take time to rejoice in all that God has done for you in the past—sing the Lord's praise because He surely had been good to you!

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this reminder today to keep coming before You with all of my cares and concerns. Thank You that You hear me and don't mind listening to my problems. Lord I am so reassured by Your unfailing love for me, even in turbulent times. I put my trust in You and rejoice in all the ways You have shown Your goodness to me.

I praise You, for You have been good to me,
