ENJOY THIS WHOLESOME CHAPTER IT MIGHT BE ONE OF THE LAST YOU GET OK BYE also i apologise in advance hahahahah
I had to give Harry some serious credit. We had made it all the way to the terminal until I had discovered where we were going. He had been so sneaky and quiet about it, I was sure I would get it out of him before that.
But no, we had been on the plane for an hour now, and I knew that we were headed to Paris. I hadn't been back there since the end of 2015, and that ended on a sour note, you know, with me being hit by a car and all.
But with my birthday being tomorrow, I only assumed that this trip was going to be a lot better. I was excited for it.
Harry was asleep next to me in his seat, but even then his eyebrows were furrowed and he looked deep in thought. He looked stressed, which was odd because surely the 'stressful' part was over? We were already on the plane?
Little did I know, Harry had every reason to be stressed.
We landed in Paris around five in the evening. Harry was now well rested and energetic, and I was the opposite. I hadn't slept on the flight at all, and I was still grumpy after being woken up at seven in the morning. My whole body was screaming for just a couple hours of sleep.
"Hey, Harry? Do we have to go out tonight or can I just-"
"I knew you'd be tired so we can go back to the hotel and sleep, I promise," He smiles at me, taking my hand and giving it a squeeze as we wait for our taxi.
"It really is just a hotel this time, right? No mansion again because that must've been so-"
"Definitely a hotel this time. But stop asking questions or you'll ruin the surprise," he told me jokingly. I didn't like surprises all that much, but I supposed I could make an exception for him.
A taxi pulls up and Harry yanks me after him, our suitcases screeching across the pavement. He still looks stressed and nervous, and it's beginning to rub off on me. If I wasn't so tired from our long day of travelling, I would've asked him about it, but all I wanted to do was collapse and sleep for hours.
And I do just that. I lean against his shoulder in the taxi, and the comforting hand he wraps around my shoulder is enough to send me to sleep.
"Sophie, wake up, we're here bub," I hear him whisper, shaking my shoulders gently. I open my eyes, trying to adjust to the light shining in my face through the window. The car is stopped outside of a large building, with a sign out front that I can't quite read because I don't understand French all that well.
"How long was I asleep for?" I ask groggily, rubbing my eyes and stretching simultaneously.
"Not too long. Like, fifteen minutes maybe. Your snoring was adorable," He grinned, leaving me sat there with my mouth hanging open.
"Harry Lewis, you better take that statement back right now, or we're having problems," I warn him, gathering my bag and leaving the car, to see Harry laughing to himself as he unpacked the boot of the car.
"Not taking it back because it's true! I mean, it was adorable so you're all good."
"I hate you so much," I joked, helping him unpack the boot.
"No you don't. You love me, and we both know it Minter," he flirted back, and it was moments like this that took me back to when we first met, our relentless flirting all the time. How that was over three years ago I had no clue.
"Yes I do love you, but I won't if we don't hurry up and get inside. It may look warm because of the sun, but it's the middle of January and weather is very deceitful. It's freezing, and I'm tired."
