"Sophie, did you hear what I just said? Hello, are you still there?" The crackle of the poor service was prominent, and I could barely hear Kyle talking. But what he had just told me was - mind blowing. I wasn't sure if it was even real.
"I'm here, yeah, I'm here," I stuttered, sat on the sofa in disbelief at his words.
"I said, you're currently holding number one debut album in the UK, how do you feel?" he asked again, and the words didn't feel real.
Number one album? In the UK? Number one? Me?
"I feel - I actually have no idea how I feel...I think I'm close to tears if I'm being honest," I tell him, and I am. I can feel them pricking my eyes as I speak, and right now I'm very glad I'm alone because I hate crying in front of other people.
"Well, I'm going to go ahead and book you in for some interviews and promo...also, it's probably about time for us to start discussing tour..."
"Can we have the tour conversation in the future? I haven't talked to Harry about it yet, and I think he'd be a bit hurt if I made any rash decisions without at least talking to him first," I ask him. I still don't know if he will come with me yet.
"Of course. But don't take too long, we need to sort this out as soon as possible. I'll text you more about those interviews, alright? And Sophie...congratulations on the number one, you deserve it," he tells me, and it makes me smile, even though he's just on the phone.
"Thanks, Kyle, I'll speak to you soon," I bid farewell, and shut off the phone. Now I got to tell Harry.
"Harry?" I call, getting off of the bed and walking out into the living room. "Where are you?" I call out, and I hear a muffled response from his workroom. I pass Herb who is comfortably curled up on the sofa, and knock on the door, to make sure he's not recording when I go in.
"You're all good, we aren't recording!" I hear him call out.
We? He must be on call with the guys, maybe.
I walk in, and see the six boys on his screen, and Harry is turned around facing me, a huge grin on his face.
He takes his airpods out, so now he can't hear them and they can't hear us. Do I do this now or wait? It might be nice to wait and tell him in a special way, but I also want him to be the first person I tell, and I know I'll end up telling Freya, Elouise and Talia as soon as I leave this room.
"You all good bubs?" he asks, poking me gently in the side. I must've been daydreaming again.
"I'm good! Great, excellent in fact. Kyle just called me," I tell him, and his smile deepens to become more inquisitive.
"He did? What did he want?"
"He phoned me to tell me that my album is now a number on in UK," I tell him, barely being able to contain my smile. His mouth drops open, and he looks at me incredulously, almost like I had been when Kyle had told me.
"You got a number one? I knew you would! Sophie - do you know how amazing this is! This is huge! My fiance has a number one album!" He yelled, picking me up in a hug and twirling me around.
Even with his airpods on the desk, I could hear the boys shouting and joking around, resulting in both myself and Harry sticking our fingers up at them.
"I'm so proud of you," he whispered in my ear, and reluctantly let go. "You wanna tell them now? Or let them hear on your Instagram, or the radio I'm assuming," he laughed.
"I'll tell them now, if that's alright? I won't be long, I won't keep you from...whatever it is you're all doing," I tell him, putting his airpods in my own ears and greeting them all. I didn't seem to be interrupting much, some of them were talking but the rest were just on their phones.
