"Yeah. I'll come out after," I say, taking in a deep breath, standing up and going over to the sink.
I peer over, looking at the result, and staring back at me I see -
- one line staring back at me. One single line.
I'm not pregnant.
I'm not pregnant! Relief floods through my body, and I feel like collapsing against the wall because it is a huge weight off of my shoulders.
I go to unlock the door for Freya, and my smile is so big that Freya starts smiling too.
"Got the news I wanted?"
I nodded my head enthusiastically. "I'm not pregnant! I never thought I'd be so happy to say it, honestly. I feel so relaxed now. I'm so over the moon, fucking hell!"
"A drink to celebrate?" She said, arching her eyebrow.
"Oh, you already know it. But only one, I've got to drive back home after. I'm going to spend the night in with Harry, just me and him," I say, looking forward to spending time with him now that this ordeal was dealt with.
"Sounds like a plan. Let's get the classy alcohol out," she winked, leading me through to her kitchen, grabbing two glasses from the cupboard, along with a very expensive looking bottle of wine.
"Here's to you - not being pregnant!" She said, holding up her now full glass and clinking it against mine.
"Woo!" I replied, clinking mine and then taking a sip, impatiently waiting to be reunited with Harry again.

We talk for another hour or so before I start to feel tired and a little achy, so I apologise to Freya before leaving her apartment and driving back to my own.
I still have some of the same symptoms as earlier, so it really must just be a bug going round. I make a promise to myself that if it carries on, I'll see if I can get some antibiotics or something. That'll do the trick.
"Hey, bubs! I'm home," I call out, locking the door behind me.
"Hello, beautiful! You didn't say you wanted lunch, but there's some leftovers in the fridge if you want it...how was Freya's?" He asked, bringing me in for a hug and a quick kiss.
"Amazing, actually. Really really good, I feel much better," I tell him truthfully.
"Well isn't that a miracle. I thought we could watch a movie tonight, you can choose, and then we can just do whatever really. Order in, or I can cook, it doesn't matter to me," he said softly, walking us back to our bedroom.
"I'm not really that hungry if I'm being honest...feel a little queasy still. Think I've got a bug or something," I say to him, not wanting to let him down because he does make very good homecooked meals, but also not wanting to cause myself to throw up again.
"You're still feeling ill? Maybe you should go to the pharmacy, or something. I can drive you there if needed?" He offers.
"No, no. Don't be silly. It's nothing major, I'm sure. It'll pass! Lord, you and Freya are the exact same. You both worry too much," I nag, making myself comfortable on the bed.
"Yeah, well, you've been through it the last couple of years. Of course we worry about you," he replies, his demeanour changing to a more serious one in the moment.
"Well, now you put it like-"
"Car accident in Paris, a fire on your birthday, not talking to your brother for months, our dog passed away, you nearly got abducted in a foreign country, you got shot, the list goes on," he says, making a very good point.
"Okay, okay. I can see why you both worry. But I can literally tell you right now that this is not a major problem. I can't give a reason why, but just trust me on this one," I smile, the negative pregnancy test still making me feel very chilled out.
"Alright, alright. I'll stop worrying. Now, which film are we going to watch?" he asks, flicking through the TV.
"Oooh...I like the look of this one..."

JUNE 22ND 2019
My symtpoms had still not disappeared, and it was nearing three weeks now. I had gone to the pharmacy, like I promised myself I would, but they said I had to make an appointment through the hospital, and that was way too long.
I'd ride it out, even if it was starting to turn into a long term thing.
"Still feeling ill?" Freya asked on the phone, as I was still in bed despite it being three in the afternoon.
"Yeah, same shit every week. My appetite is non existent because whenever I do eat something I just throw it back up again, it's got to be a virus or something. Fuck!"
"What?"
"Nothing, I just...can't get comfortable. Stupid fucking back pain," I complain, arching my back and rolling onto my side.
"I still think you should get checked out," she advised me.
"How many times do I have to say, it's literally a stomach bug. The doctors aren't going to be able to do anything if I do go in, so what's the point of wasting my time and energy," I tell her, for like the tenth time.
"Yeah, you know what, maybe it won't help, but what if it does? It'll stop you from feeling like crap and staying in bed all day. You need to go outside, go out for a walk or something. You're gonna forget how to walk!"
"Wouldn't be the first time," I said dryly, the joke making myself chuckle.
"That wasn't remotely funny," she said, sternly.
"it was a little bit funny...come on, you've got to admit," I teased her, my favourite hobby.
"Nope. Not funny. Didn't laugh. Didn't even crack a smile. You're on thin ice, Minter," she warned.
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry!" I apologised, clutching my stomach as a large cramp ripped through me. I must finally be on my period, I always managed to get cramps around this time.
"I need to go, Josh is calling me. Text me later, yeah?" She made me promise, before leaving. I put the phone down, grabbing some sanitary products before making my way to the toilet.
Being on my period would explain literally all of the symptoms I had been feeling, and maybe this would signal the end of me feeling ill for nearly a month.
Sorry that it's a shorter chapter but the next one will be up tomorrow! :)
