Chapter 10: The Yule Ball and Night Terrors

I wake up the next morning and quickly change. I brush my teeth, looking myself in the mirror as I think about the day. Today was the day of the Yule Ball I still hadn't asked Issac to go with me. I finish up my morning routine and quickly grab the flowers I had bought last night than I kept in a glass with water so they didn't die. I rush to the Astronomy Tower and set it up what I couldn't last night, before heading to the Hufflepuff Common Room where I see him waiting for me. "Good Morning beautiful." I say with a smile as I see him. He turns around and smiles at me. "Good Morning handsome. This better be good, you got me out of bed before the sun has risen." He says with a fake pout causing me to laugh. I peck his lips softly before taking his hand. "It definitely is, come with me." I say holding my hand out for him. He intertwines our hands and we begin walking. I lead him to the Astronomy Tower and follow behind him as he walks up the stairs. I let go of his hand as he rounds the final step on the staircase looking around the room. "This place is beautiful." He says as I rub my neck. I bite my lip softly looking around the room. I had placed small lights around the room, lighting the room slightly but still keeping it dark. I placed a large blanket on the floor with a few pillows, looking out the large window giving a full view of the sky. I walk over and pick up the flowers I had bought him. I walk over, resting my hand on his hip softly. "It came to my attention last night, that I still hadn't asked you to the Yule Ball." I say softly, handing him the bouquet of Roses and Dandelions, his favourite. "So, I decided I wanted to make it special. What better than being in the place that every major thing occurred for us? I know you love watching the sun rise in the morning, especially just as it begins to peak over the horizon. I know you love those flowers more than anything." I say gesturing to the set up I had created. "Will you, Issac, go to the Yule Ball with me?" I ask softly, rubbing his cheek. He smiles and kisses me softly. "Of course, I will." He responds and I rub his back softly. I smile softly and pull away. I lie down using the pillows as leverage, before holding my arms out for him. He sets the flowers back into the vase before lying in my arms with his head on my chest.

"It really is beautiful." Issac says watching the sky as the time goes by. I smile and kiss his head softly. "It really is." I mutter, closing my eyes softly as I just enjoy my time alone with him. We stay in the Tower for a few hours until the sun had completely risen. Issac sits up and turns to face me. "I'll miss this tower on half term." He tells me and I smile. "I know babe. Everything happened here." I say rubbing his cheek. He leans into my palm as he speaks. "We had our first argument here. I kissed you for the first time, we had almost got caught having sex up here for the first time, you asked me to be your boygriend here over 6 months ago now. We both got our hearts broken up here. It's a safe place for us." He says and I kiss him softly. "No more broken hearts." I whisper against his lips. Issac nods and kisses my hand softly before I start to pack up the room. I clean it up, putting everything in the bag I had left around. I take Issac's hand as he carries his flowers and we walk to the Hufflepuff Common Room, so he can put them in some water. I lean against the wall outside watching as students go about their mornings, rushing around. I smile softly thinking about everything that had happened in this year, knowing it would come to an end tomorrow when we had to leave. Issac walks back out of her common room, intertwining our hands. I kiss the back of his hand softly before we walk to meet Charlie and Pansy on the mountain as we had planned previously. I smile as I see the two already waiting for us, we walk over and sit next to them with a smile.

"How did this morning go?" Pansy asks me and I nod. "Well he said yes so I think it went great." I say with a chuckle causing Pansy to laugh. "Oh, did you finally ask him to go to the Yule Ball with you?" Charlie asks and I nod. "Yeah I set up the Astronomy Tower last night before I went to bed so that it was ready for me to pick him up this morning. We stayed up there for like 4 hours just talking and enjoying the sunrise." I say wrapping my arms around Issac as he kisses my jaw softly. Charlie nods with a smile as her and Issac begin talking about Transfiguration. I smile softly watching how they got along, feeling so thankful I met both of them, as well as Pansy. "Wait so what are we doing over the Summer?" Charlie asks, sitting up in Pansy's arms. "Family is coming into town so I'm being forced to see them." I say as Issac rests his head on my shoulder whilst I talk. "How about we meet up once a week at least? Just so we can see each other, we live like an hour between each other." I suggest and Issac nods. "Yes please, I don't want to go 12 weeks without seeing you." Issac tells me and I smile gently. I press a soft kiss to his head as Charlie and Pansy talk about what they were doing over the weekend. I zone out, thinking about Draco's initiation ceremony that was occurring this half term. I had to go, there wasn't a way for me to get out of it, even if I didn't like him being a death eater. He who should not be named would be there, I had to go. I run a hand through my hair, subconsciously scratching my arm where Draco's mark was before shaking those thoughts out of my head as Issac takes my hand. "You okay Onyx?" He asks and I nod. I smile softly. "Yeah, sorry. Just thinking about half term." I say kissing his cheek. I check my watch and notice that it was 4pm already. "Hey guys, we should probably go get ready. The Ball is in 2 hours." I tell them, helping them all up. I dust off my jeans before holding my arm out for Issac to hold on to. "Your suit is in my room don't forget." I tell Issac as we walk back to the castle. "All you need to grab is the rest of your stuff, I have your suitcase already." I tell him and he nods. We walk Pansy and Charlie to the Hufflepuff Common Room as that's where they were getting ready.
