I was with Yoongi hyung when I got a call from Mr. Lee. I put the phone on speaker so that hyung could listen in on the conversation.
"Namjoon, son, Jimin just stormed out of the station after seeing only half the video record. Can you check if he's alright? And about the video, can you ask Yoongi to watch it just once?"
"Hyung is here with me"
"I-I will watch it. Its fine" he says before I can object to his decision.
"Yeah and I'll call Jimin to see where he is. Thank you for informing" I cut the call before looking back at hyung, a clear question in my eyes. He sighed.
"I knew I shouldn't have allowed to let Jimin watch the record. I knew he wouldn't be able to handle it but I didn't want to refuse him outright. He probably needs to learn to make his own decisions"
"Hmmm but are you sure you'll be okay to watch it? I can do that for you"
"Its fine, Namjoon-ah. I can see you hurting by all this. You don't need to hurt yourself even more by watching it. I'll watch it. Any updates abut Erica's condition?"
"The doctors are still operating on her. Taehyung and Hoseok hyung are sitting outside, waiting for any news. Jungkook went home. We didn't want him to see all this"
"Hmm that's good. He was quite fond of her, everyone was. I hope she comes back"
"She will, hyung. She's a fighter" he nods.
"I will go call Jimin, see where he is" he nods again. I leave the room, Jin hyung stirring a little at the sound of the door closing.
The phone rings while I impatiently wait for Jimin to pick up. The moment the call is received, relief floods through me, knowing he is safe.
"Jimin, where did you run off to? Please come back. Yoongi hyung will watch the rest of the video. It's alright. Just come back, yeah?"
"I-um....I'll convey that to Jimin" a female voice rings back to me. My brows furrow at the unknown voice.
"I'm sorry. Who am I talking to?"
"Oh...right. I'm Jinae, his girlfriend. I bumped into him on my way back. He was crying and I got worried so I took him home. I hope you don't mind. He is kinda asleep right now and I thought the phone might be important so I picked up, sorry"
"No no. It's fine. Thank you for taking care of him. Just ask him to come back to the hospital whenever he gets up and is refreshed"
"Wait...before you hang up...is everything alright? Oppa was saying something about his noona being hit and now you're asking him to come to the hospital? I don't want to intrude but like if I can help?" I can't help but smile. She is just too sweet.
"It's complicated and I don't think it is my place to tell you about it. Maybe you can ask Jimin about it when he wakes up? But thanks for the offer anyway" the smile still lingering on my face as I cut the phone. I go back to the room and inform hyung about Jimin's whereabouts, of course omitting the details – a friend's house seemed to do the work.
A nurse entered the room the same time Jin hyung stirred awake.
"Min Yoongi?"
"Yeah"
"You can be discharged. Just make sure to change the bandages once every day. And try not to favour that leg for walking. Some forms are yet to be filled so finish them and you are free to go. Stay safe" she smiles and nods, turning around.
"Thank you" I say before she's gone out. Hyung tries to get up from his bed, leaning his weight on the headrest. I help him up with Jin hyung keeping the door to the room open. He limps over to the reception to fill in the forms with the help of a walker, teeth biting his lips, all concentrated on walking without hurting his bandaged leg.
"Can you guide me to the operation theatre? The patient brought in last night. A case about shooting?" he asks the receptionist after he's filled the form. I share a glance with Jin hyung before stepping in.
"Excuse us for a moment, please" I tell the receptionist before looking back at hyung. She nods, allowing us our privacy.
"Hyung, you have to go home to rest"
"No y-you don't understand. I have to see her, I have to be there for her to come back to"
"Hyung we will stay here, we promise. Just please rest for a day or two?"
"Just one day" he replies, looking down at the floor.
"Hmmm....I will inform you if we get any updates on her, okay?"
"Yes"
I take him to my car and ask the driver to drop him off to his place, requesting him to take special care of hyung's injury. I go back in the hospital to check up on the others. Jin hyung is standing beside Hoseok hyung, Taehyung huddled to his side, legs up on the chair, face buried in his shirt. Jin hyung raises his brow to inform me of someone's presence behind me.
I turn around to see Seo yeon brisk walking in our direction. Her speed increases on seeing her brother's hunched form.
"Taetae?" he whimpers, pulling her shirt once he sees her, burrowing his face in her shirt once she's sat down in Hoseok hyung's place.
She looks up at him, a clear question in her eyes. He shakes his head, looking down, not answering her question. She tightens her hold on her brother before gazing at me and Jin hyung simultaneously.
"Where is the rest of the group and why are we in a hospital? Why is Taetae crying?" she grabs his face by his cheeks urging him to look at her "Are you hurt baby?"
He shakes his head, whimpering a quiet and broken 'noona'.
"W-what happened? Why are you not answering my questions? Why is he shaking?" she looks up at us.
"Erica was shot. Yoongi hyung stabbed with a knife. He is in shock, he saw them bleeding. Erica's being operated on in the room and we sent Yoongi hyung back home after he got discharged" Hoseok hyung blurted out, not looking at her at any point.
"Oh God!" her voice is a whisper before the questions come "W-what? H-how? Who did this? When did this happen?"
"Yesterday night around one o'clock"
"Is everyone else alright?" Hoseok hyung nods. Seo yeon sighs, murmuring a quick prayer before petting Taehyung's hair, trying to calm him down as we wait for the doctor's to come out of the operation theatre.
