Erica's point of view:
The next morning started with a bang. Getting out of my soft and inviting bed, I made my way to the staircase to see what the commotion in the house was about. I saw Sung Jae making his way to father's room and from one look at his anxious expressions, I could deduce that the news was nothing good. This deduction was confirmed when I saw father draping his coat over his shoulders in a hurry and leaving the house. I could only pray that Jimin will not be involved in any situation this time. The last time he came back home after an emergency, he had many deep cuts visible across his entire body caused by a sharp knife wielded by some unforgiving individual. His clothes were completely covered in blood, his or someone else's I know not. It took him days to walk properly without a limp. I could not watch that happen again. I decide to stop Sung Jae if he even takes a step towards Jimin's room's closed wooden door. But contrary to my expectations, Sung Jae moves out of the house, following father who has an aura of confidence radiating around him despite the display of slight anxiety in his furrowed brows.
I wake Jimin, who had been sound asleep during the whole ordeal, up from his room and proceeded to get ready for school as fast as I can. After the usual boring classes, I make my way towards the group of people waiting for me and Seo yeon at the gates. Today, we had decided to meet together and hang out with Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook's other friends as decided two days before. Seo yeon and I playfully tease Ara whereas Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook are involved in their usual banter. As we walk past the busy streets gazing at the business men entering the massively tall buildings, continuing with their fast-paced life and children playing in the park, my mind replays the scene from today morning over and over in my head, trying to think of the cause for the sudden arrival of Sung Jae. Father usually likes to keep business away from the house, at his office in the commercial region of the city. As I'm raking my mind for the reasons of today's incident, I fail to notice that we've reached our meeting point. I look up, when nudged in my arm by Jimin, to see Hoseok, Seokjin, Namjoon and Yoongi waiting for us. Namjoon and Hoseok idly chatting about the assignments they've gotten at their school, Yoongi just pacing around nonchalantly whereas Seokjin is just getting out of his polished black Chevrolet's ten-seater car.
Seokjin, the eldest, the mature one amongst us all, is the most caring person I've ever had the fortune of meeting. He will go out of his way to make sure all his friends and family are comfortable. His broad shoulders, deep, caring brown eyes and plump lips can charm the heart of any girl but he chooses to remain single. Yoongi, on the other hand, is an individual who doesn't like to express his emotions to anyone. He usually prefers to be cold and blunt towards everyone but is extremely caring about the comfort of his friends. He was the most notorious student our high school had ever known. He loved causing trouble; the way his eyes lit up with mischief, the smirk slowly rising at the edges of his lips every time he got up to some mischief gave away his inclination towards the thrill of it all. Hoseok and Namjoon on the other hand are calm and composed most of the time but they are willing to do anything to cheer their friends up.
I greet them all with a smile and we decide to park the car there and walk to the park further away from the downtown of the city to have some fun for the evening. We sit there in the fresh grass and chat for a while. Taking a peak around us, I see small children running around, making new friends, enjoying their time there without a care in the world, couples littered around, and old people revelling in the feeling of the gentle autumn breeze brushing their faces as they jog. I am jerked back to reality by a gentle squeeze of my forearm. I look up to see Yoongi offering me a sandwich from the basket of food delights that Seokjin packed which I politely decline seeing as it is the last one leaving him with none. After talking and catching up with each other, we unanimously decide to head back home.
Seokjin decided to drop us off in his ten-seater. As soon as I sat in the car, I was hit by a sweet strawberry scent, the one which put me to sleep in a few minutes. I was woken up by Jimin shaking my arm gently and asking me to get off the car. I apologized to Yoongi whose shoulder was supporting my head during the ride and bid them goodbyes. On entering the house, I could immediately sense that father was home from the tense figures of the housemaids and attendants of our house.
Confirming my suspicions, father was standing in the magnificent balcony of the second floor overlooking the first; facing the entrance. He radiated an aura of dominance, those dark, blank black eyes staring at us, as if waiting for us to return. The menacing glare he threw my way gone unnoticed by my younger brother, whose hands had started shaking in mine. He then spoke with the same deep, intimidating voice, dark and malicious.
"Hello, Jimin. I expect you to have a good reason for your lack of concentration yesterday at the shooting as I was informed by Sung Jae. I expect you to be in my office, Erica."
"Dad, I am really sorry. I did not mean to. It was just one shot. It will not happen again. Please don't punish noona for that." Jimin pleaded with father, taking a step further, hand tightening around mine, desperation clear in his voice but father did not deter in his decision. He turned his back to us and started walking to his office.
"Jimin, its fine. You have to do me a favour while I'm gone. Will you do that for me? Hmmm?" I spoke up after father left. From the stern tone of my voice, Jimin was jerked back to reality. He looked up at me. His beautiful eyes brimming with tears. Wiping a stray tear from his eye with my thumb I continued in a softer tone.
"I want you to go to your room, listen to some music and wait for me there, alright? I'll be back as soon as possible." Jimin half-heartedly agreed to me and trudged up the stairs to his room and shut the door behind him. I picked up my phone and dialled in Taehyung's number. I did not have to wait too long for him to pick up the phone. Standing there in the lobby I explained that he needed to come and take care of Jimin, get his mind off the situation. I was sure that Jimin would blame himself for everything I was about to encounter in father's office. I inform one of the maid about the expected arrival of Taehyung and then proceed to go to father's office as anticipated of me.
