Sorry, I realized in a later chapter that I always meant for Evie to have like an older generation flip phone and I probably should've mentioned it sooner.  My bad

I rolled my eyes.

"Careful, Sweetheart. I have no problems taking you over my knee and spanking you till your ass is as red as your cheeks."

I felt my jaw drop.

I mumbled out an apology quickly, not wanting to test his threat.

He smiled and said, "good girl."

We sat in silence for a few seconds, I wasn't sure what to say next.

Finally he spoke up, "so, do you accept my offer?"

This is it. No running away now.

I swallowed the lump that was stuck in my throat and took a deep breath.

Nodding my head I said, "Yeah, let's do it."

He grinned and stood up quickly, coming around to my side of the table so fast I didn't have time to process what he was doing until he was already in my face, kissing me passionately on the lips.

I felt lightheaded when he pulled away. I felt like I was going to giggle with excitement.

Damn, it's really been way too long for me. I'm getting all worked up over a damn kiss!

He reached into his pocket for his wallet and without looking, handing me some cash before heading for the front door.

He turned around to face me as he was walking out, "See you tonight, Sweetheart." He called out loud enough for everyone to hear.

And just like that he was gone.

Until tonight.

Shit. What did I do?

The rest of work went by in a blur.

Brent and Lacy were asking me question after question while Melanie ignored me. Apparently she's not used to being rejected by men. I almost felt bad for her, after all, it was my fault he was there to begin with.

We finished up with closing the cafe and Lacy, Melanie and I were waiting outside the door for Brent to finish setting the alarm and locking the doors.

We all stood around awkwardly. Secretly I wished one of them would suddenly invite me out somewhere so I'd have an excuse not to go home.

I know, I know. It's really shitty of me to ignore a promise I just made, but I was still so nervous about going home and seeing Kai there.

"Well, see you bitches tomorrow." Brent spoke up suddenly, blowing us air kisses as he walked in the direction of his place.

Which left me alone with Lacy and Melanie.

I looked from one girl to the other and back again, still secretly wishing one of them would suddenly have a idea involving me.

I looked at Mel again, but she still looked a little pissed.

"Well, I'm going to the bar and getting pissed drunk. Lacy, want to join me?" She made the point of not only not inviting me, but she wouldn't look at me anymore either.
