AN: THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE START TO ACT 3 RIGHT AFTER THEIR REUNION. I LITERALLY WROTE THIS YEARS AGO AND HAVE JUST KEPT IT, WAITING FOR THE RIGHT MOMENT. It is referenced in chapter 12 and throughout the book I guess, so as a final send off (maybe unless I miss Aurora), I give you the last pre-written chapter I have saved, and honestly the most important one. In another life, this would've been the prologue.

After Aurora's games, the attention never failed to be directed toward her. The only instance in which others weren't gawking at her presence was when Finnick Odair was by her side. The people of District Four praised her for surviving the games, as well as they felt pity for the poor girl, having witnessed her brother get brutally murdered. Although, not all attention was kind. In the few years after her games that she'd been in school, children would call out rude remarks as she passed them by in the hall. Words such as "murderer," "killer," and even phrases as bad as "you should've died in that arena with your brother." Whilst she was verbally harassed by the young boys and girls at her school, there were also those who spoke with her in attempts to get Finnick's attention, for their relationship was well known around almost all of District Four.

Aurora had found herself missing the years prior to her and Finnick's games, not only for the lives of her family but for the peacefulness she'd experienced being invisible. Before she had met Finnick, no one had acknowledged her existence, only knowing her as the girl with the cute older brother. She was completely alone, spent all of her time with her family, much too invested in her own imagination to even acknowledge the idea of friends.

That was until she met Finnick Odair.

The memory was one of her fondest, placing second after the memory of her and Zale having an intense pillow fight when she was just shy of five years old. Her first encounter with the ever so young and handsome, nine-year-old Finnick Odair, was one she could describe perfectly.

The day was unlike every other. The air was much more humid, due to the hot summer sun shining intensely down on the citizens of District Four. That was one thing about District Four, it was almost always hot and sunny, causing all the citizens to have golden tan skin. Aurora was a gem in that sense for being born with naturally pale skin and black hair, unlike most of the other blonde headed natives that lived in the district.

The sand was practically scorching, but Aurora was used to the feeling. She didn't mind the slight sting in her feet, being far too excited to play in the ocean to even bother caring. Others seemed to have care though, considering the odd emptiness of the beach. Aurora looked around, the only people occupying the land being the fishermen who worked tirelessly every day, and one lone boy sitting on the edge of the pier, his legs dangling lazily off the edge.

Aurora furrowed her brows at the sight of him. Never had she seen the dirty blonde-headed boy on the beach till now. The curiosity in her young mind had sparked. Her brother hadn't been able to go with her to the beach that day, making her feel a bit lonely. There wasn't one day she hadn't gone out with her brother.

Feeling interested in the young child's presence, she walked to the small pier, stopping a few feet behind him. She noticed he fiddled with something in his small nimble fingers. Something that seemed to have all his focus and attention, that he hadn't noticed the young girl a few feet behind him.

Not bothering to introduce herself, she walked forward and sat beside the little boy. It was then, had he finally noticed her presence, shooting his head up to find a pale girl staring at him curiously. His brows furrowed at the sight of her. What could this girl want?

"Who're you?" Finnick blurted out. His tone sounded slightly rude to any adult if there was one, but luckily, Aurora had been clueless enough to not mind his tone.
