Mrs. Adams rambled on and on repeating the same things over and over again. She could truly keep time standing still If she wanted to. I kept thinking about bringing Monroe to my aunt's house. I was excited and nervous at the same time.

"Mrs. Knight?" Mrs. Adam's voice sung pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Wait what?" I asked confused. The class giggled.

"The answer? To this chapters summary?" She asked getting annoyed.

"I'm sorry I was zoned out." I apologized.

"Oh i know. That's why I called on you. Please day dream at lunch seven. We take this class seriously" She then looked down at her book and continued the lesson. She is such a joy. I sat back and sighed.

The bell rang finally and I packed up my stuff before heading out of the door. Monroe was standing outside in the hallway with a white t-shirt and jeans, his belt showing slightly. He smirked at me as I walked towards him.

"Seven." He smiled.

"I'm surprised you're here since you never go to 7th hour." I laughed.

"I have all the Seven I need right here." He winkedputting on his black wind breaker. The fluttering returned in my stomach. We headed out of the double doors and were stopped by the one and only Allison with her hair teased to the gods.

"Oh the love birds, what a pleasure." She grimaced.

Monroe let out a loud and unpleasant sigh looking upwards and rolling his eyes like a toddler, "Not really."

I giggled under my breath.

Allison snapped me a look.

"Listen, it's really such a joy to talk to someone as..." He scanned her up and down with a face of disgust,

"-positive...as you are, however your jealousy today is radiating negative energy, that just isn't good for my health." Monroe sighed scratching his head. Allison's jaw fell slightly and her face burned up. "Now if you'll excuse us, we'll be planning our wedding now, since that's what English partners do." He winked at her as he put his hand on the small of my back surprising me. His touch alone felt like electricity shooting through me... in a good way.

He pushed me to walk past her and we made our way to his Mustang.

"Now you see why I call her big bird." I sighed making him laugh.

"What's a good name for thing one and thing two, traveling behind her?" He asked.

"Oh, Bert and Earnie" I answered. He chuckled and opened my door for me, shutting it behind me after I got comfortable.

The radio clicked on and the band Staind started to play.

"Shut up that's my favorite band." My eyes lit up.

He looked down on me with an amused face. "I love them too." People always told me rock music wasn't their cup of tea, except for Briana, she listens to everything, especially when she's drunk.

He turned up the radio as Right Here by Staind played.

Eventually we pulled up to my aunt's house and I saw Raymond pulling out of the driveway as if it was choreographed perfectly. Raymond and Monroe looked at eachother as they passed. Monroe's sharp jaw clenched. I studied his eyes as they went cold and dark one second then back to their cool gray. I blinked not knowing if I processed that correctly. I waved it off thinking of the shadows caused by the trees.

We pulled behind my aunt's Lexus and I led Monroe through the garage.

My aunt was sitting at the table with a pen and newspaper doing crossword puzzles. She looked up and went wide eyed.
