"I need to talk to Esther." I demanded looking down at the sapphire glowing a deep cherry red.

"Okay, but we're not going to them. We'll call her to my house." Monroe suggested.

"Okay, but im perfectly capable of going to her house. I'm sure my fathers death was drug related." I sighed.

"I don't want to take any chances Seven." Monroe had a very serious expression written across his face.

"Fine." I nodded. Monroe picked up his cell and started dialing a number. I sat on my bed trying to hear what I could.

"Esther? Listen We need you to come to my family's estate, it's important, Seven and I can't travel to you at the moment." He said. I heard mumbling on the other side of the phone. "Great. See you in an hour."

Monroe hung up the phone and looked at me, "Do you want to wear what you have on? or do you want to change? We'll be leaving soon."

"I'll change." I answered walking to my closet. I grabbed a black hoodie, some black leggings, a new pair of underwear and a new bra. I went into the bathroom shutting the door behind me and looked at myself. I looked extremely tired even though I've been crying and sleeping since last night. I pulled on my clothes and brushed my hair. I brushed my teeth and grabbed my ugg boots.

"Alright, let's go." Monroe said taking my hand. I already spoke with your aunt and told her you're coming to my place for dinner."

"You told her or you compelled her?" I asked.

"Seven, I don't compel for fun, your aunt is actually quite reasonable." He lead me downstairs and through the garage out to his mustang.

"Monroe i'm not a baby." I groaned when he tried to pick me up and put me in the car.

"Okay." He walked to the other side of the car and climbed into the driver's seat.

About five minutes went by and we were at Monroe's parents. He immediately picked up the phone and started talking quietly to someone who I assumed was one of his siblings or parents. We walked into the home and Mrs. Evelyn was standing at the door before she wrapped me in her cold arms.

"Oh Seven. I'm just so sorry." I felt so awkward. Suddenly she jolted back looking at me.

"What?" I asked stunned.

"Your hurt, it's so deep." She frowned. I forgot she's an empath. I gave her a half smile.

"I'll be fine."

"I know you will, I just hate this for you." She said back before Eli, Sterling, and to my surprise Lacey came down the stairs.

"Hey little sis." Eli smiled wrapping his arm around me. I guess everyone knew about my dad considering even Lacey wasn't being a bitch. She sat on the edge of the couch twirling her hands around.

"Hey." I smiled. Sterling also greeted me and we all sat waiting on Esther. Monroe's father was no where to be found.

The front door swung open as Esther and Mr. Cittadino walked in.

"I feel her energy, someone wants to talk to her alright." I heard Esther's voice from down the hallway. Everyone in the living room looked at me and Mrs. Evelyn put her hand on my shoulder.

"Esther." I said standing up to greet her. She was wearing a long red cloak that put a shadow over her face before she took it off.

"Seven. There's a terrible danger." She said worried. My brows furrowed and my chest had that same feeling of anxiousness.

"Your father's death will be ruled a drug overdose, but he was clean Seven. A vampire did this and he did it to hurt this family, for reasons I don't have the knowledge nor power to know."

My heart felt like whatever that was left of it fell to my stomach. My breathing picked up and became extremely heavy. Monroe rushed to my side grabbing my arm as I almost tripped trying to take a seat.

"What do you mean?" Monroe's father asked looking from me to Esther.

"Leonardo." She said looking directly at Lacey. Everyone followed their gaze to Lacey. She went pale and swallowed hard.

"What? Leonardo killed her father?" She asked looking genuinely shocked.

"Lacelia. You were gone that night it happened because Seven came over here for dinner." Monroe's dad said sternly looking like he had lost all humanity in his eyes. My head jolted at Lacey who looked at me nervously.

"Seven. I know we don't get along, but I did not do this. Leonardo didn't tell me anything, I was in the hotel room waiting on him I swear, I would never want to hurt her like this no matter how much I despised her, she's my brothers mate, dad. Mom, please believe me." She pleaded.

Monroe's jaw clenched as he studied her. I looked over to Esther who's eyes were closed and her hands were shaking.

"Esther?" I called. Everyone looked at her. Monroe's father went to her side.

"What is it?"

"A man has come through. Jon Knight. Seven, is this-"

"That's my father." I answered crouching down beside her in complete awe of what she would say.

"He says Lacey is innocent. She had no knowledge."

Everyone let out a sigh of relief and I couldn't believe my father was talking to her.

"You can talk to him?" I asked with tears in my eyes. Monroe put his hand on my shoulder squeezing it tightly.

She smiled, "He is in the realms to communicate with me as he is also of Haitian witch bloodline."

"Tell him im so sorry for hating him. I didn't know he reached out to me, my mother never told me-" Tears started to fall down my cheeks. "Tell him I love him so much." I cried.

"He hears you." She smiled closing her eyes. " I feel so much love and regret," She winced. I couldn't stop the tears. Mrs. Evelyn put her hand over her heart and laid her head on Mr. Cittadino's shoulder.

"He said to tell you this world you live in, is so cold, and that he's finally happy. He wished he could've been the parent he should have, but that he's watching over you." she placed her hand over her heart, "Please don't hate your mother." She whispered.

My eyes went wide, "How could I not? She knew I cried everyday after he left wondering why he didn't love me and she kept his letters from me, I could've had my father." I said angrily.

"Her heart is dark, but she is still your mother. She's lost." Esther repeated. I put my head in my hands feeling so conflicted.

"Monroe." Esther called, "Thank you for taking care of my daughter." She spoke. I looked up at Monroe who gave a half smile before wrapping his arm around me.

"He's gone." She finished. I started to cry as hard as I did yesterday when I found out he was gone.

"Listen to me Seven." Monroe's dad said crouching in front of me. His voice rang with authority and I felt I had no choice, but to listen. I looked into his gray eyes and felt safe immediately like they were Monroe's.

"This hurts and will hurt like hell. Trust me, I lost my mate and it feels just about the same if not worse than losing your parent. You have to stay strong. Do you think he'd want you crying over his mortal body? He told you he's happy. Here he was miserable. Let him rest in peace by carrying on his legacy and making it that much better. You have a powerful destiny to fulfill, and that will be an honor to everyone."

I looked into his eyes swallowing the lump in my throat, "I understand."
