As I got ready for school the next day I had Raymond's words heavily on my mind. Ask him. His words replayed over and over in my head.

I pulled on black leggings and a black oversized hoodie before I threw my hair into a high pony tail I didn't put on any foundation leaving my freckles exposed, even though I hate them. I had a long night of tossing and turning thinking about this. It couldn't be some type of mythological creature for sure. He looked like a normal human guy. He didn't have fangs, he walked out in the sun, he wasn't a mermaid because he was always in rain. Super heroes aren't real however his reflexes were as fast as light.

My aunt dropped me off and I saw Monroe waiting as he promised. His sunglasses were still on and his jet black hair fell gently around his face. His hands were in the pockets of his jeans and he wore a long sleeve black shirt that was only tight around his chest.
I got out walking towards him and he couldng help but smirk. My stomach already had a pit in it thinking about everything that went on yesterday, but now it was accompanied by butterflies. I smiled faintly back at him. He lifted his glasses down slightly flashing his pearly white teeth as I finally reached him.

"Seven." He said still smiling.

"Hey Monroe." I replied. His eyes glistened in the sunlight that was finally out today. I looked at his skin. He wasn't melting or burning. He didn't look like a disco ball.

"What's conflicting you." He asked. I looked up at his face that was now studying mine.

"Oh nothing I was just thinking about something." I laughed trying to play it off. I looked back up at him and he wasnt buying it. His glare continued to beat down on me.

"Hmm. Don't lie to me." He said not budging.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"I can sense that something is actually wrong with you and you're trying to pretend you were just tired and zoned out." He cocked his head to the side intensifying his glare. His eyes squinted as he read me. And he was spot on. I couldn't let him know that though.

"I was up all last night actually. I am extremely tired." I protested.

"Ah and what was keeping you up?"

Damn it. He caught me up again.

"Raymond just told me some things, well  pointed out some things, about my personal life that I didn't notice before." I said hoping he wouldn't ask.

"What exactly did he tell you?"

I should've known better.

Not only was he confused now he's getting angrier by the second.

"Monroe stop getting mad." I said analyzing him. He grew slightly softer but was still on the edge.

"What did he say to you Seven. Tell me. You can tell me anything." He pleaded. I looked into his eyes and didn't want to lie to him, but if anything was going to work between him and I, I needed answers.

"Would you tell me anything?" I asked challenging him. He swallowed hard keeping his eyes locked on mine.

"Yes." He mumbled.

"He told me to be careful the other day, and I was confused but waved it off. Yesterday you caught me when I tripped but you were on the balcony sitting on the ground, I didn't even get the chance to hit the ground." I started.

"So you wanted me to let you fall on your face?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"No dummy. Believe me I'm more than grateful you caught me"

"Clearly..." He trailed off sarcastically.

"Anyways!" I said cutting him off, "It's not even just that, the way you've heard conversations and you weren't even in the vicinity..."

"Seven." He said sternly cutting me off.

"No Monroe. I need to know what I'm getting myself into. Even though we're just friends we kissed yesterday and I felt.." I trailed off not wanting to expose how he has made me feel, "The point is. I deserve answers at this point especially if this is going to go any farther."

I expected him to walk away and not give one damn about me. However he stood there searching for what to do next, keeping his face blank. He was still squinting studying me for what seemed like an eternity.

"Damn it Seven." He huffed walking to his car and opening the door. "Get in and let's go."

I stood there confused.

Causing him to stop, and look at me,"Do you want answers to your multitude of questions or are you just going to stand there?" He groaned.

I looked back at the school,"but Brooks-"

"To hell with Brooks, I'll handle it, but this conversation can't happen here." He got into the driver side and the pit of my stomach sank. What was he about to tell me.. I look back in the parking lot seeing a couple students watching us. I climbed into the passenger side anyway.

He whipped out of the parking lot and headed towards the familiar route we took last time. He was bring me to his abandoned house.

Monroe drove in silence the whole time. I glanced at him occasionally seeing his grip tighten on the wheel or his jaw clenching.

We pulled into the rocky drive way and he stormed off to the bench. I followed after him. He didn't sit, but stared off into the lake running his hands through his hair.

"You can tell me anything." I said softly. He didn't speak for a minute.

"I don't know if I can tell you this though." He sighed studying the lake.

"Raymond told me to ask you what you are." I said looking at him hesitantly.

He looked at me then ran a hand through his hair angrily. "Why did that mutt put me in this position when he knows...he fucking knows.. God."

"Monroe he knows what? And what he said was merely the last puzzle piece." I said sternly walking up to him. "Why can't you tell me?" I asked.

"I don't want to drag you into this fucked up world I live in seven. The world Raymond lives in, so many of us live." He trailed off looking back at the lake.

"Well considering nobody will tell me fucking anything, I can't relate to the world you or him live. However, I've been and lived through my fair share of fucked up unfair things too." I yelled.

"Seven it's so much more complicated than you'll ever know." He couldn't even look at me. He sat down and put his head in his hands.

"Well start explaining it to me. What was up with everything I've seen and tell me what does Raymond keep warning me about." I sat beside him waiting for anything.

He picked up his head. "Be prepared to be in shock, crying, running away, and never wanting to see me again. You humans are always over- dramatic." He said deeply with a hint of sarcasm.

Humans?

"Monroe-"

"I am a vampire, Seven."
