"This game wasn't supposed to be sad." He scoffed making me laugh again.
"You're the one who brought up parents." I rolled my eyes and he smirked squeezing me just a little tighter. "Hey, I'm going to run to the bathroom really quick."
I said he half smiled at me nodding as I got up. When I was walking towards the door I stumbled over the door frame and lost balance, as I braced for the fall Monroe's arm was around my waist and pulled me into his chest in less than a second. He was just sitting on the balcony a few feet away from me.
I looked up at his relieved face in confusion then quickly smiled feeling our bodies touch.
"You can't be this clumsy." He sighed looking annoyed with me. He set me down and folded his arms over his chest.
"Don't be around me if you dont like it." I smarted off making him look deeply into my eyes and then he smirked causing his dimples to appear.
"You know I can't do that." He sighed.
"And why not." A smile started to appear on my lips.
"For biography purposes of course." He laughed walking and sitting on the bed. His eyes met mine again and he looked like he was pouting even though his mouth wasn't. His eyes then flickered up and down from my head to my toes making my heart beat accelerate again.
A soft chuckle left his lips.
"What's so funny?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Nothing, I've just never met someone like you."
Immediately my heart fell to my stomach and the butterflies came back with a vengeance. Monroe stood up walking towards me as I kept my eyes on his chest. his hand gently lifted my chin to his and our eyes connected.
"You're nervous." He said softly trailing a seductive tune in my ears.
"It's nothing bad I just never allowed a guy to be this close to me." I admitted shyly turning the ring on my finger.
"There's no way, you're a virgin." His face went flat scanning mine and as I looked up with embarrassment I saw the corners of his lips twinge and a smile form.
"I don't trust men." I said rolling my eyes.
"Seven. Whoever told you being a virgin was something to be ashamed of, are sadly mistaken." He said picking my chin back up, "I just didn't think it was possible for a girl that looks like you do, and the personality on top of it all.." He trailed off scanning my face again and I couldn't help but blush. I thought it was a dream.
He bent his head down to mine slowly and I couldn't help but lean in too. I stood on my tiptoes and our lips collided.
Electricity shot through my body as he placed his hands on my hips causing them to heat up. His lips moved in synchronization with mine. My cheeks lit up and he smiled as we slowly pulled away from eachother. Did this really just happen? I couldn't even focus.
"You kiss really good for someone who doesn't trust men." He smirked.
"I said I was a virgin, not that I've never kissed anyone, and it doesn't mean I trusted them." I Iaughed. I don't know how he had this power, but he left me wanting more. His eyes stayed on mine and he kept smiling at me.
"What?" I asked.
"I trust you." He said softly tucking a piece of my own hair behind my ear. The butterflies were in my stomach fluttering.
"I trust you, too." I smiled, "but trust me there's still a ton you don't know about me. I'm like a really deep wound that just keeps getting worse." He continued to look down on me with his hand brushing the side of my face.
"Then let me heal that." He whispered causing my legs to tremble. I leaned into him to keep from falling and as I did that he reconnected our lips again. This time the kiss was deeper making my entire body heat up. I didn't want him to stop, but I got worried of what would happen if we didn't.
Suddenly Monroe pulled away looking over his shoulder.
"What is it?" I asked confused.
He inhaled then turned back to me, "We have company ." He said in a less than excited tone, pulling away from me.
Then there was a knock on my door, as if it was on cue. Raymond walked in causing Monroe to tense up. His eyes flickered changing colors again making me shiver.
"Seven, your aunt said dinner will be ready in an hour." He looked at Monroe as he walked out.
"Alright." I called back to Raymond.
"How did you know he was there?" I asked confused after hearing nobody before Raymond knocked on the door. "And how did you catch me so fast when I fell? Why do your eyes change color every time he comes around?"
Monroe looked down at my feet and then back up to me, "Seven I didn't do anything extraordinary, and my eyes have always changed colors."
"Maybe I'm just imagining things." I sighed.
He put his arm around me,"You'll learn all about me soon, I promise. Right now it's just a lot to understand"
I nodded. What did he mean by a lot? Why does he think I wouldn't be able to handle whatever it is?
I walked Monroe out to his car and he got in the driver's side rolling down his window so he could still talk to me. He grabbed his sunglasses covering up his smoky eyes.
"Thanks for having me." He smiled that gorgeous half smile where his pearly whites just barely showed.
"In more ways than one." I sighed reffering to the kiss earlier making him tilt his head back to laugh.
"I'll be waiting for you by my car in the morning. I don't want you walking in there with Allison's obsessive ass by yourself, got it?" He said waiting for a response. We've only kissed once and he's already protective. I smiled.
"Alright." He then pulled out of the drive way and I could feel myself blushing. I can't believe he kissed me.
"You kissed?" A voice said behind me. I turned around seeing Raymond looking confused. I'm starting to think I'm going deaf since everyone around me seems to be able to hear so well. "Please tell me that's all you two did."
"What does it matter to you?" I asked. What does their issueshave to do with me and why did he get to ask such personal questions about me, when he won't even tell me the reason they hate eachother to begin with?
"Hes not safe Seven." He said sternly.
"All you keep saying is he's not safe, yet you've never given me any reasons why. You say there's personal things between you and him, yet you won't tell me why, and still believe I should be loyal to your wishes." I said defensively.
Raymond ran his hands through his hair aggressively letting out an annoying grunt. "Jesus seven you're hard headed I'm trying to look out for you"
"Then tell me what the hell has went on." I demanded.
"I can't do that.." I rolled my eyes getting ready to walk upstairs, "Until you ask him what he is."
I looked over to him frozen. My face had written confusion all over it.
"What he is?" I asked. Raymond only nodded. My mind began to ponder on today's events. The way he always knew conversations that I had had when he was across the room or even outside of the hallway. His gorgeous, perfect figure, I personally thought it was extremely good genes. His sister and brothers, all pale yet had golden color changing eyes based on their moods.
"You can't be insinuating....Raymond..." I laughed in disbelief, but he continued to stare at me with zero humor in his eyes.
"Ask him." He said again before heading back inside.
