Levi's P.O.V.

"Mina!" Sakura cried out.

Mina was walking toward the squad, her eyes trained on her feet. She froze when Sakura hugged her.

"Captain Levi said you saw Haru die! That must of been horrible!" She yelled.

Mina easily brushed Sakura off of her and walked away, heading toward the horses that were kept in the stable. She climbed onto Haru's horse, Maximus, and pulled on the reins. Maximus took off out of the stables, and she steered him toward the gate of Wall Rose.

"Mina!" We all yelled.

I quickly got on my horse and went after her.

~~~
I reached her right as we passed under the gate of Wall Maria. She continued on after we got to the open fields that lay beyond Wall Maria.
"Mina!" I yelled. "As your Captain, I order you to stop!"
She ignored me and kept going. Maximus whined when a Titan came into view. Mina stood on his back, balanced herself carefully, and launched herself into the air. The wings of freedom, the symbol of the Special Forces, seemed to give her the ability of flight as she hovered toward the Titan. I had yet to see her use her maneuvering device. The Titan tried to swing its hand at her, and as soon as it nearly hit her, she shifted her weight and evaporated into thin air. She reappeared behind it, fell toward its neck, and sliced through the nape of its neck.
She landed on Maximus and looked at me. Her eyes were cold and as clear of emotions as humanly possible.
"That girl you saw who cried so openly in front of you no longer exists." She growled.
"Mina, what's going on? First, you back away when you had me pinned down. Now, you're acting heartless after seeing a squad member die." I said.
She laughed and turned Maximus around.
~~~

"Show us again, Mina!"

"Yeah! Do it again!"

I walked into the meeting room of the squad barracks right as Mina threw a dagger at the wall behind me. I reached up and touched my ear. There was blood on my fingertip when I looked at it.

"Sorry, Captain." Sakura said.

I looked behind me to see a picture of me pinned to the wall by a dagger. The one Mina had thrown was stabbed into the ear.

"Do you think that's funny?" I asked, looking at her.

She smirked and pointed at me. "I think your ear being shaved a bit is funny. That dagger in the ear of your picture is ironic."

I rolled my eyes, walked over to her, grabbed her arm as tight as I could, and took her to my room. She looked at me when I closed the door and locked it.

"You have some nerve throwing a weapon at your comrade, no less your Captain!" I barked.

She stepped closer to me and lightly touched my ear, making it sting.

"It doesn't hurt, does it? I honestly didn't mean to hurt you. I just happened to throw it when you walked in." She whispered.

I stared at her. She had completely changed to a different person when I got her alone. She walked over to my bed, got on her knees, and pulled out my first aid kit.

"How did you know that was there?" I asked.

She ignored my question and snooped through the kit. She grabbed a spray can and looked at it for a second. She got to her feet and kicked the kit, making it slide under my bed. I watched as she came closer.

"Look over there and count to twenty." She ordered.

I looked in the direction she pointed and counted to twenty. In the time it took me to count, she had cleaned my wound and sprayed it with disinfectant. I looked at her when she finished.

"That stuff didn't sting me." I said.

"It didn't because you were focused on something else." She explained.

She placed the spray can on my desk, walked up to me, kissed my cheek lightly, and ran her hand down my neck. She smiled and moved to whisper in my ear.

"Now do you understand why I backed away from you?" She murmured.

Her hand trailed down my chest and over my side as she walked out of my room, leaving my heart racing and my mind blank.
