The Curse of The Midas Mirror

Chapter 16:

Hi everybody!! It's been forever since I updated but here is the next chapter. Now that I'm off hiatus I'll be able to update more. Without further ado, CHAPTER 16!!!

Chapter 16

Violet's POV

I woke up and yawned. Yesterday was a CRAZY day. I'd been locked in a stone temple, been kissed and blew up rocks with the power of fear. Not your typical Monday.

Today we were getting the 2nd enchanted gem. The gem in the monster kingdom. The king said it was supposed to mean Aramerian kingdom ONLY quest. But, it turns out the kind was sending us on a tri-kingdom quest. Yippee.

There were a few banana trees where we were resting for the night so I decided to pick some for breakfast.

Soon, Ronan joined me. "Cleo is still asleep" he said.

"Oh okay".

"You know how I asked you if you would want to stay here in Greece the other day" I asked.

He nodded.

"Have you considered it"?

He looked away uncomfortably. "well, I...."

I sighed. I'm being too forward! I mentally cursed myself. "It's fine I didn't mean to make everything awkward”.

"Its not that, I just want to see my god mom again. She must be worried sick about me. She just wanted to help me. I was so short with them even the little one. I've got to get back to them. They are all I have now”.

I looked at Ronan sadly. “Well you have me. And I promise I will do everything in my power to get you home. I know how important family is and I am sorry for your loss.”

Ronan’s POV

I smiled over at Violet. She was truly beautiful. As much as I loved being around her I longed to be back home. well if you could call it home. I hadn’t even been there for 48 hours but Aunt Joey and piper and Jess and all of them were the closest thing I had to family. I’d never get my real family back. I looked over at Violet who was staring at me and it was then it hit me I’d been thinking out-loud.....yet again.

She opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by a loud shrill scream.

We looked at each other in horror and I knew we were thinking the same thing before we said it aloud.

“CLEO!”

We ran back to the campsite to find Cleo in the tentacles of a giant squid monster thing with a crown on her head.

It cackled evily. “I’m baa-aack” it said in a sing-songy voice.

I stared at it and all the color drained from my face. “Tessamonet”.

I ran to the tree and grabbed my sword. I ran and jumped pushing of of a branch of a tree and the boost from the tree propelled me up over the tentacles of Tessamonet I sliced off one of them as I landed. I felt pretty proud until I watched in horror as 2 more ugly tentacles grew where old one had been cut off.

Are you kidding me right now?!?!

Violet’s POV

I ran at Tessamonet and blasted the tentacle holding Cleo with my gold laser and it dropped her. She landed like spiderman and ran towards me. Ronan came towards us too.

"Anybody have a plan?” asked Ronan.

“Attack her all at once she can’t fight all of us at once” said Cleo.

“It’s worth a shot”.

We all ran at her but I tripped as I ran at the monster. I felt a wet slimy tentacle wrap around me and I panicked. It wrapped tighter and tighter.  Suddenly we heard a loud buzzing noise. The tentacle was gone and she was holding me up in the air using some levitating thing. There was a huge black hole glowing green and red. Tessa monet was backing into it and was pulling me with her.

I screamed for help and was about to scream again but everything went black.

Ronan’s POV

There was no way I was going to let this monster queen take Violet away from me.

Tessamonet had morphed back into a human and was holding violet up with some sort of telekinesis power.

Violet screamed and looked desperately then closed her eyes. She had blacked out.

“NO” I screamed and ran at Tessamonet with my sword, Cleo at my heels.

“Good luck finishing the quest without the person leading it” cackled Tessamonet and dissapered into the portal. My heart sank as I watched horrified and helpless as the portal closed....with violet inside of it.
