~couple weeks later idk dude~

Living with Annabeth has been, interesting? I barely ever saw her. As soon as she wakes up she brews her coffee (too hot for my taste), has the same avocado toast and heads out the door in a rush. By the time she gets home it's pretty late and she has a tired look in her eyes. She changes into comfy clothes and sits on the couch for hours drawing or listening to music.

Everytime I try to spark up a conversation with her she either ignores me or shuts me down.
Piper was always working or visiting her friends so she wasn't around a lot, leaving me with no one to talk to.
I sat on the couch next to Annabeth. She had headphones in and I could hear the faint sound of Matt Maltese. I smiled at her music choice.

After a while I started to mumble to the lyrics as I watched her draw. She was really talented. Now that I think about it why was she always drawing designs for buildings? Why didn't she draw anything else? Maybe it was her job?
"Annabeth?" She obviously didn't hear me through the music. I sighed and took her headphones off of her. She shot me a deadly glare and flicked my hands away. Just before she put them back on I grabbed her arm.
"Annabeth?"

"What." She crossed her arms over her chest and looked at me.
"Why do you always draw buildings? Is it your job?"
Her face softened and she looked back down at her drawing. "No it's not my job. I work at a stupid diner."
"Well why do you always draw buildings then?"
"I'm practicing for when I'm an architect. I'm saving up all my money for college in Rome." She started to ramble about architecture and how shes wanted to be one since she was a kid. Her face lit up with a bright smile as she talked on and on about it. She had a pretty smile.

I smiled and leaned back listening to her every word. I've never seen her so happy since I came here.
She glanced at me and her smile wavered.
"I-I'm sorry I'm probably boring you. I'll-"
"No. You're not. Its nice seeing you in a good mood for once."
She smiled and looked back down at her work. She fiddled with her pencil.
"Hey Annabeth?"
"Yeah?"

"Why aren't you already going to college for architecture? You're definitely smart enough for it."
Her face got tight and she stared off in front of her. "I don't have enough money for it yet."
"Are your parents not helping you? Don't they want you to go to college?"
Her face went back to a scowl. She put her things together and sent me a glare. "That's none of your business." She got up off the couch and stormed off.
"Annabeth wait-"

"Leave me alone." She went to her room and slammed the door shut.
I stared at the spot where she sat a second ago. My gut was heavy with guilt. Why did I have to talk? She was happy for once.
Why did I have to ruin everything?
