The next few weeks felt like torture. Annabeth started bringing Luke to the apartment a lot more. They usually stayed in the living room, leaving me to stay cooped up in my room for hours with nothing to do. I started to notice how little time Annabeth spent drawing. She was so busy with Luke I guess she never found the time.

I tried not to spend time with Annabeth anymore after Luke's oh so friendly order.
I ended up spending a lot of time with Rachel since I found out she lived here. She introduced me to her girlfriend, Addie and I couldn't help but notice how head over heels Rachel was for her. It was nice having my old best friend back. I introduced Rachel to Piper and they hit it off quickly.
When Rachel asked about Annabeth I shooed off the question, not wanting to get her involved.

One morning I woke up a little late around noon and decided to get myself out of bed. I put on a shirt and left my room.
In the kitchen Piper stood at the counter preparing food.
"Hey Pipes." I sat at the counter and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
"Good morning there, Sleeping Beauty. Did you find your slumber energizing?"
I nodded my head and looked up at what she was doing. "What are you making?"

"Oh I was making Annabeth some lunch since she couldn't leave to get any." She smirked at me. "I can make you some?"
"No it's fine. I'm not hungry." I stood and walked around the counter to get some water. I leaned against the fridge and took a sip of my drink. "Hey Pipes?"
"Yeah?" She turned and shot me a questioning look.
I smirked at her. "I thought you had work in like 10 minutes?"
Her eyebrows furrowed until realization dawned on her face. She pulled out her phone checking the time. "Shit."

I laughed as she started to panic. She glared at me.
"Don't you fucking start I had a long night-"
"With Jason?" I gave her my trouble maker smile. She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Whatever Jackson. Looks like I can't bring Annabeth her lunch. Could you bring it to her for me?"
I sighed at the thought of having to see Annabeth. All it was, was bringing her food, I don't have to talk to her right?

"Yeah, of course I will. Now go get to work, Dumbass."

I walked down the street sipping my coffee. It was a short walk from the apartment to the diner where she worked.
I walked into the diner and took in a whiff of the food. It smelled heavenly.

I turned my head and stopped in my tracks when I spotted Annabeth. She was on the other side of the counter leaning against the table top, face to face with Luke. They were talking and making googly eyes at each other.
I sighed and forced my feet to walk over there. Annabeth came out of her trance when she spotted me.
"Hey Percy. What are you doing here?" She asked me with a small smile.
"Well actually-"

I was rudely interrupted when Luke cut in. "Hey Babe I have to get back to work. I'll see you later ok?" He squeezed her hand and kissed her cheek.
"Yeah, bye." She smiled as she walked off. Luke shot me a deadly glare on his way out
I turned back to Annabeth with no enthusiasm whatsoever.
"So what's up?" She crossed her arms.
"Uh I brought you lunch." I set the bag on the counter. Her face lit up and she smiled.

"Percy that's so sweet-"
"Its from Piper, not me." Disappointment showed in her face but she shook it off.
"Well thank you anyways."
I nodded in response and started to walk off when she caught my arm.
"Hey is everything ok? You seem kind of off lately." She frowned.
"Everything's fine." I lied.
I gave her a half smile before leaving the diner and walking home.
