After getting coffee we decided to go on a walk. She seemed to know her way around the city. She led us to the beach. We talked about anything that come to our mind.
We walked along the beach side. She was closer to the water. She buried her hands into her hoodie pocket.

"So you lived in New York before coming here?" She glanced up at me.
"Yeah I moved here after I turned 18. I didn't really want to leave my mom but it was for the best."
"I can't believe I didn't know that much about you."
"Yeah we didn't talk that much in High School." She stared ahead of us blankly with guilt in her eyes. I nudged her shoulder. "Hey stop feeling bad. You didn't do anything wrong." She looked up at me and smiled.
"I can't help it. I-"

I turned to her. She stopped and turned to me with a confused look.
"Annabeth. Stop. I'm perfectly fine. I mean look at me. I'm thriving." I opened my arms wide all high and mighty. She laughed and pushed me gently. She held my gaze. I felt my cheeks burning.
Suddenly out of no where, a little kid came running through us. Annabeth stumbled and fell backwards. I tried catching her before she fell into the water but failed. She stiffened when she hit the water.

"Annabeth are you ok!" I stepped forward and grabbed her hands pulling her up.
She slightly shivered.
"Here take your hoodie off." I pulled off my hoodie and held it in my arms.
"What-?"
"Here take off your wet hoodie and use mine." Her cheeks flushed but she listened. She took the dry hoodie and handed me hers. My hoodie was too big for her so it hung off of her loosely. She wrapped her arms around her self and shivered slightly.

"Hey let's get you home." She nodded and started walking. She walked further from the water than before.
By the time we got home she was shaking a lot and her lips were somewhat blue.
After she showered and changed she looked a little better. She sat next to me wrapped up in a blanket.
"Do you wanna watch a movie?" I smiled at her.
"Yeah that'd be great."

I picked out a movie and started it while settling in on the couch.
I glanced at Annabeth. Her gaze was focused on the TV. Her hair curled into ringlets and spilled over her shoulders. She had a small smile on her face.
She turned to me and I glanced away. Maybe she didn't see me?
"What?"
I turned to her trying my best to be nonchalant. "Huh?"

"You were staring?" She smirked and raised an eyebrow.
I turned my gaze to the TV and smirked. "No I wasn't."
She shook her head and fixed her gaze back to the TV.
So much for being nonchalant.
