~yall better prepare yourselves :)~
I stood in the hallway leading up to the front door. Annabeth's flight left in two hours and it was time for her to leave to the airport.
She inspected her bags carefully making sure everything was ready. I leaned against the wall and gripped her present tightly in my hand. I tried to stop my hands from shaking. Tears ran freely down my cheeks."Everything's ready." She mumbled and stood. "I should probably get going." She turned to Piper and me. Piper was a crying mess but she put on a brave smile.
Piper crashed her in a hug and squeezed Annabeth tight. They hugged for a few moments before pulling away and saying a few quick words.
Annabeth turned to me with tears rolling down her cheeks.
I pulled her into a tight hug and buried my face into her hair. She sobbed into my chest.
I pulled away and gave her the best smile I could."Percy-"
"Hey it's ok." I glanced down at the envelope in my hands. I smiled and handed it to her. "Here."
"What's this?"
"Just open it." She unfolded the paper to reveal a messy crayon portrait of her. She smiled and ran her hand over the paper.
"Did you make this?" I nodded and pulled her into another hug. "Its perfect."
"You should get going. Don't want to be late." I pulled away and kissed her forehead. "You'll do amazing."She nodded and picked up her bags. Just before leaving she turned around and flashed me and piper a bright smile.
And just like that she was gone.
I stood and stared at the closed door for way longer than I should've. I couldn't move my feet. I glanced to my left and saw her opened door revealing an empty room.
I wiped the tears from my eyes and trudged off to the couch.
"Percy?" Piper sniffled.
"Yeah?""I know you're in love with her." I turned to her and gave her a questioning look. "Don't play dumb with me. I knew that from the moment you saw her. Why didn't you tell her?"
"There was no point if she was going to leave anyways." I sat on the couch.
"Percy?" I looked up at her and she had a smile on her lips. "Go get her. You need to go tell her."
"But-"
"No buts you idiot. Go!"~
I ran down the walkway leading up to the airport. Parking was horrible (of course) and along with that it was raining. I sprinted as fast as I could. I looked in front of me and saw Annabeth just getting out of her taxi. She pulled her bags out of the trunk and walked towards the doors.
"Annabeth!" She turned and her eyes widened. I reached her and grabbed her hands. "Wait-"
"Percy what-"
"Please don't go." She stared at me in shock. "Please."
"Percy-""Annabeth please. You can't go. I-I-" I stared at her and gripped her hands tighter. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I love you."
The rain soaked her hair and stuck to her face. I gently cupped her cheeks and moved the hair out of her eyes.
"I love you." I repeated before smashing my lips against hers. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back.
She pulled away and sobbed. "Please Annabeth. You can't leave."
"Percy. I've been working for this for three years. I-I can't just give that up." She stared at me and rested her forehead against mine. "I'm sorry.""Annabeth-" She smashed her lips against mine in a desperate kiss. Suddenly the speakers blared a sequence of numbers and flights. She pulled away and wiped my tears.
"I have to go. I'm so sorry, Percy. I have to do this." She pecked me on the lips once more before picking up her bags and walking into the airport.I stood there frozen watching as she left. A knot in my chest formed. I sniffled and wiped my remaining tears before walked back to my car.
She was really gone.
