Still Angry At Chopsticks

The following morning, Reid entered the bullpen and sat down at his respective desk. He looked around tentatively, waiting for someone to come and inform him that they had to go into the briefing room for another case. Spencer waited for about 10 minutes before deciding that it was going to be a rather relaxing day.

"Hey, Spence," JJ smiled as she sat on the edge of the desk, coffee cup in hand.

"Hey, JJ," the younger smiled. "Do you know if we have a case today?"

"As far as I know, no. Let's hope it stays that way," she sighed and the doctor agreed.

"Morning, pretties," Morgan greeted as he walked past. "Here's your sugar with coffee," he handed Spencer a steaming cup. JJ laughed and he smirked. The brunette attempted to suppress a smile but took it from Morgan anyway.

"Thanks," he took a sip. How Derek managed to get it right every time was beyond the doctor. Perhaps it was due to the unintentional studying the broad agent would do on the younger.

"No case?" Morgan asked, looking around for Hotch or Garcia to come in with news.

"Nope," JJ shook her head. Spencer took another sip before setting it down on the desk and pulling out files, beginning to sort through them. It didn't take the doctor too long to finish going through them all since he liked filing and going through files unlike the rest of his coworkers. Fairly enough, no one really enjoyed reading as much as he did so the appeal of files was a unique taste.

The BAU was strangely quiet as everyone went through their respective files, working diligently through the first few hours until lunch rolled around and their stomachs all made sure to alert them that it was time to eat.

"Alright, where are we going for lunch?" Spencer perked up at the sound of Morgan's voice as the muscular agent towered over Reid's sitting form.

"What do you mean? It's lunchtime already?" the doctor frowned, looking down at the watch decorating his wrist and seeing that it was, in fact, one pm. "That was fast."

"That's because you're the only one who has fun doing those," Morgan chuckled. "Now, what're you up for?" he perked his brows.

"Not sure, whatever you want," Spencer answered truthfully, putting away the files he had finished, organizing them into their correct spots.

"What about Chinese?"

"Mm no, I'm still angry at chopsticks, I haven't completely figured out the mechanism in which the chopsticks work," Spencer shook his head. It's not like he was planning to live his whole life without learning how to use them, he just preferred to eat today without suffering, he was pretty hungry.

"Okay, then where?" Morgan laughed.

"You have a very nice laugh," Spencer blurted before he could stop himself. The younger's face burned with embarrassment and he immediately dropped his gaze. Unbelieving that he had really just said that out loud and to his face. Spencer worried that Morgan would feel uncomfortable with such sudden confession.

"Thanks, Pretty Boy," he shot that million-dollar smile Reid secretly fawned over. Damn it, Spencer, be any more obvious. The doctor didn't bother to raise his gaze away from the files as he sorted them at a faster pace.

"Er, you're welcome," Reid nodded, smiling awkwardly.

"You still haven't told me where you want to go to lunch," he pointed out.

"I don't know about you guys but I could do Indian," Emily slipped into the conversation as she sat on the corner of Spencer's desk.

"Sounds good to me," Garcia joined in. Reid frowned to himself having thought it was only going to be the two men but it wasn't. Admittedly, the doctor didn't mind because he was afraid of letting slip certain things if it was just the two of them.

"Reid?" Morgan looked over at the doctor as if asking if he was okay with the women joining them. Though Morgan was never going to say no to spending time with his team, he did sort of want to be with just the doctor but the latter only nodded.

"Yeah, sounds great," he answered, picking up his messenger bag and slipping it across his body.

"Let's go," Morgan tossed the keys in the air and catching them before heading to the elevator where everyone else was filling in.

"Where are the others?" Spencer asked.

"JJ and Hotch went to go eat with their kids and Rossi probably went on a lunch date," Garcia answered, pressing down on the buttons.

They arrived at the Indian place soon enough, finding their seats quickly. Morgan sat across from the young agent which Spencer had been thankful for. He wasn't sure he'd be able to control his mouth and say something dumb if their hands brushed against each other one more time. The group of four ordered and all talked animatedly about the cases they've had and whatnot before heading back as their lunch hour had come to an end.

"Hey, you mind helping me with a couple of files since you've finished all of yours?" Morgan asked as they walked back into the bullpen.

"Yeah sure," Spencer nodded, setting his bag down on his desk before following Morgan to his office, standing patiently in the door frame for the broader of the two to hand them over. Reid tapped his thighs absentmindedly as he roamed around Morgan's office. It was very neat because Morgan couldn't have it any other way.

"You don't have to stand there, Reid," Morgan looked up from his cabinet as he was searching.

"Oh, I know," he muttered awkwardly, taking a few steps inside.

"I was hoping you could stay here and work on them with me. Still feels weird to always be working in here on my own," Morgan said as he held the files in front of Spencer.

"Oh, er, sure," the doctor nodded, attempting to stop his capillaries from expanding and having them closer to his skin which would cause the younger to blush.

"Great," Morgan grinned and handed him the files, sitting in his chair and filling out files of his own. Spencer felt nervous, sitting down in one of the chairs in front of Morgan and setting to work.

"How have you been, Reid?" he asked and the younger looked up, frowning. "I know we're always together but I just haven't asked you in a while," he explained.

"The last time you asked that was September 21st at 8:02 pm," he recalled easily. Morgan laughed and a smile stretched onto the doctor's lips. "But I'm okay, what about you?"

"Pretty good," he replied. They stayed in a comfortable silence after that, the sounds of pens scratching paper and the occasional clacking of keys on the board echoing throughout the office.

"Hey, have you seen Reid? I can't--oh there he is," Hotch stood in the door frame, startling both men, drawing them out of their focused minds. They turned to look up at Aaron.

"What's up?" Spencer asked.

"Nothing, I was just concerned over your whereabouts," Hotch nodded. "What're you guys doing?"

"Filing," Morgan answered as if it were obvious.

"Alright well shift is over in an hour and a half," he looked at the two before leaving the room.

"Today is going by faster than I thought," Morgan chuckled.

"Did you know that when someone enjoys what they're doing it only feels as if time is going faster but it's still going at the same pace. But then again there's the argument over whether or not time exists because of the way it functions in the different parts of the universe," Reid informed him. Morgan wondered if he'd ever get tired of his listening to him.

"Now I do," he laughed again. Reid smiled and looked back down at his files, Morgan's eyes still lingering on the younger for a few more seconds.
