Rescue
In a forest, by chance, if you venture
and come across a girl sitting alone.
See tear filled eyes and soaked cheeks, just take her to the field where seeds are sown.
Make her see the saplings
and the sunlight that incandescently shown.
Pull her to the coral reefs
and the deep sea monsters that freely roam.
Let her jump up in air
and see her glow with the light of fireflies.
Introduce her to the independence of the forest,
and hurl her into fire, so as a phoenix she may rise.
Let her smell the petrichor of the fallen rain,
and jostle at the sound of thunder.
Set her free in the majestic woods at night,
not lock her up, that would be a blunder.
The next dawn, when the sky is lit,
not by the glorious but a timid sun,
Place her under the banyan tree and cherish her one last time,
for her rescue has been done!
