Hush-a-by Baby...
Hush-a-by baby, do not fear,
Sleep little one, mama is here.
Velvet is the gentle night,
In the dark, the stars gleam;
The Moon with her silver light,
Will bring you a lovely dream.
Hush-a-by baby, dry that tear,
Sleep little one, mama is here.
Do not rustle loudly in the trees,
Nor through the leaves sweep;
Dear wind, be a gentle breeze,
Till my little one falls asleep.
Hush-a-by baby, do not peer,
Sleep little one, mama is here.
Gently the cradle, I do rock,
Softly letting it swing;
Unmindful of moving clock,
Sleep, 'til morning bells ring.
Hush-a-by baby, this song do hear,
Sleep little one, mama is here.
Hush you, owl on the tree,
Crickets, chirp softly, please;
My baby sleeps, let her be,
Nestled in dreams and ease
Hush-a-by baby, hush-a-by dear,
Sleep little one, mama is here.
