Keep it up!" Saka niya ginulo ang buhok ko. Napanguso na lang ako. Kakasuklay ko lang ng buhok ko, e.
"Hmp! How I wish to have a brother din. Looking at both of you, I think it would be nice," ani ni Juris.
Is Juris an only child?
They all looked at me in unison, with furrowed brows. Teka, have I said the words out loud?!
Are you seriously asking me that, Gretch?"
I laughed nervously. Iwinagay-way ko ang mga kamay.
"I was just kidding, ano ba kayo! Of course, I know!" I safely replied.
"You should be careful. Someone seems to start being doubtful," sabi ni Garius na nakatayo ngayon sa likuran ng inuupuan ko.
I was about to ask him what does he mean by that, when I felt someone across the table looking at me intently. Zareth's watchful eyes didn't leave me, even if I caught him.
I nodded at him and showed him a smile. I just hope he didn't saw the nervousness at it.
I wanted to join in their conversation, because it sounded fun, pero mas mabuti na 'yong manahimik na lang ako. Less words, less mistakes.
"So, what are we going to do first? Banana boat, snorkeling, or what?" tanong ni ate Stella.
"Let's just shop na lang kaya muna?" Juris suggested with delight, as if I could see her eyes twinkling.
"Saka na 'yan, Juris. 'Pag uuwi na tayo. Island hopping na lang?" si Clydinne.
"I second Clydinne's motion!" Kuya Geoffe giddily shouted, as he raised his fisted hand.
Juris hid her face on her palms. Ate Stella shook her head in dismay, with clear annoyance on her face. Si Clydinne naman ay nanatiling kumakain. Si Zareth… uh, 'di ko na nilingon.
"Kuya," mahinang suway ko sa katabi ko.
"Okay, okay!" Kuya Geoffe raised both his hands and did the zipping lips.
Natatawa na lang akong napailing.
I wonder how the real Gretchen handled him. Base on their descriptions kasi, she seems to be someone who gets irritated easily.
The banter continued all throughout our breakfast.
