Chapter 1
Avery
"Hey! That is not fair. That's my drink," I scream as I see my friend, Olivia Cox takes the drink away from me. My other friend, Amanda Thomas laughed as she watched us fight over my drink.
We were currently in Hawaii for our summer break. We all were first years in college, Olivia is doing law, Amanda is studying fashion and I am doing Interior Designing. We have known each other since we were in middle school; we lived next door and even went to the same school.
"You know, you can still have it," Olivia said holding my drink out and as I reached for it, she pulled it out and gulped it down. That little beast!
"I hate you," I say throwing some sand on her and she looked at me, disbelieved. Her blue bikini, olive skin tone and long blonde hair were covered in sand. She glared with her big green eyes.
"You are so dead Avery Brooke," she said putting the glass down and ran after me. I ran because I knew she was going to come for me. For her 5 foot 4 inches body, she ran pretty fast. She even over took me even though I was 5 feet and 6 inches. She really wanted to get me that bad.
"AHHHH!" I scream as we both fall into the water. I was out in the sun for so long that when I got into the water, it was cold. She didn't stop there, she started chucking water at me and I returned back the favour.
"You guys are such babies," Amanda said and we stopped our little "fight". Olivia and I looked at each other and we knew what we had to do.
We ran up to Amanda who was lying down on her towel in her orange bikini, sunbathing her pale skin and her red hair pulled into a messy bun. We picked her up in our arms as she opened her hazel blue eyes. She had no clue what was happening and before she could react, she was in the water with us.
"Idiots," she said as she started rubbing her eyes and Olivia and I were laughing so hard that tears came down our eyes.
"Are you two kids done with fooling around so that we can go and get tanned?" Amanda asked and we nod standing up. We all lay down on our respective towels and just as I put my head down, I hear someone scream.
"My daughter! Someone save her!" I heard her and I sprang to my feet. I ran towards the mother who was crying over her daughter.
"What happened?" I ask and she pointed at her daughter who was in her floaty, but looked like she was carried away from the shore because of the waves.
I jumped into the water and tried swimming towards the child but since the waves were too harsh I couldn't. I came out of the water and saw a guy running towards us with some ropes in his hand.
He looked at me and nodded. He handed me one end of the rope, tied it around our waists just in case one of us falls down and we got on our surfing boards and swam towards the child. We both were able go smoothly and I got hold of the child. He was responsible to get us back since I couldn't as I had my hand around the child.
"Thank you so much," the mother said hugging her child and I smiled. I saw the guy walk away from this and joined his friends. I wanted to thank him so I walked up to him and his whole group of friends looked at me.
"Hey," I say and he looked at me. He looked so good with his sun kissed, toned body, brown eyes, light brown hair and his red shorts which matched my bikini. He was smiling with those perfect white teeth. He had such a symmetrical and strong face. He had strong features.
"Yes?" he asked and he had such a mesmerising voice. He had to look down to look at me because he was probably 6 feet 3 inches.
"What you did there was amazing. Thank you. I'm Avery," I say extending my hand and all of his friends, including him looked at me shocked.
