Chapter 27
Avery
"Where is he?" I ask running into the police station. I was going home from a long day of work when I got a call from the police station saying he was arrested. I couldn't think about anything as I drove there as fast as I could.
"There they are Miss," one officer says and I see Alex and Liam in different cells both with bloody faces but Alex looked worse than Liam. Alex clearly has a broken nose, a black eye, bursted lip and a bloodied cheek and forehead where as Liam had a bursted lip and a bruised cheek bone.
"Miss this way," the officer says taking me to a table and I place my bag next to me and sit down.
"Fill these out please," he says and I do as I was told.
"Now whom would you like to bail out Miss?" he asks and I look at the both of them. The both of them were my exes who had hurt me but one hurt me more than the other. I was going to bail out the one whose arrest news shocked me the most, the one I have forgiven long ago.
"Liam Carson," I say and the officer nods.

"He is free to go," the officer says and Liam was let go. I look at him and he smiles. I obviously didn't know how could he smile at a time like this?
"Avery, come on. Bail me out too. Please," Alex pleads and I look at him.
"I can but I won't," I say smirking.
"Please Avery. Please," he says and I walk closer to him.
"How does it feel begging a woman you criticized to bail you out after being beaten up by a "singer" while you are an athlete?" I ask in a mocking tone.
"Hope the cells show you that you are a horrible person," I say walking out and Liam comes behind me. As soon as we get out, there were cameras in our faces. Suddenly I was conscious about what I was wearing. I was dressed in my jeans, leather jacket and a plain white t-shirt with my heeled boots and my hair was in a bun and had bold red lipstick on. I wear my sun glasses as we walked to my car.
"Avery Brooke does this mean Liam Carson and you are back together?" they ask and I ignored them as I allow Liam to sit in the front of my car and we drive away. As we lose the paparazzi, I take out the pack of ice I brought from the nearby store.
I take him to my house and make him sit on the couch and get some medicine to clean out his wounds.
"Why did you have to do that?" I ask looking at him and he looks into my eyes as I looked at his bruised cheek.
"Because he deserved it," he says and I scoff.
"What makes you think that he deserved it?" I ask sitting down.
"He obviously wasn't a good fiancé to you and he abused you," he says and I laugh slightly.
"Well Liam, you weren't a good boyfriend to me too when you slept with the other girl," I say and he nods.
"I wasn't and I learnt my mistake after you left me and I have changed. I never abused you mentally like he did and I surely wasn't ashamed that I loved you. I was proud about it and you came to bail me out which kind of proves that you think I am better than him," he says and I get up to go to my kitchen.
"You are right in that way," I say as I make some green tea for him.
"Your house, I like it," he says and I look at him.
"Thank you. I purchased it in November," I say. I brought it after a month of breaking up with Liam. He was now looking around the house as I brought him the tea and he took it.
