Chapter 19
Avery
"Alex!" I scream and laugh at the same time as he runs around with his hoodie, which was my favorite one. I had worn it and he was teasing me with it. He had been doing it for the past good 30 minutes and he seemed to be enjoying it.
We were currently in New Jersey for his match and he wanted me there and I was happy to accompany him.
"Babe," I say and he stops to look at me and I walk up to him and he pulls me close. He kisses me on my nose and then my lip and I laugh.
"I love you," he says and I smile kissing him back. He hands me back his hoodie and I take it.
"I love you too," I say. Alex and I have been together for the past 6 months and we are happy in each other's company. He turned 22 recently, making him two years older than me. His parents seemed to like me and my family loved me.
We both go in to get ready and he leaves early so that he can meet with his team members before the match and I was getting ready. Kelly, my makeup artist and my hair stylist did my makeup naturally as my stylist, Riley picks out my outfit.
I came out in jeans cutouts, paired with a plain white t-shirt and grey leather jacket with ankle heeled black boots. My hair had beach waves in it, parted in the middle and I had my natural makeup.
"Thanks guys," I say hugging them and they hug me back. I grabbed my bag and sit in my car as my driver drives me to the venue. We lived about 10 minutes away from the stadium in a mansion that was given to Alex and I.
As I got out of the car, the paparazzi's cameras flashed in my faces. There were so many people there, screaming my name and I smiled at them and waved as my security escorted me into the field.
"Hey," I say looking at Tom, Alex's best friend who was in the main hall and he hugged me.
"Avery, it's so great to see you," he says and I smile.
"How's your leg?" I ask after he had a surgery on his right leg.
"It's great. I will be able to play today," he says and I rub his hand.
"That's great Tom. Good luck and make me proud alright?" I say and he nods. I give him a quick hug and they escort me to the VIP seating area where I met celebs. People have started recognizing me as a pop artist, rather than someone's girlfriend and that makes me proud.
My album was in the top three spots in the world and I was surprised that a debut album stayed on the charts for so long but I was grateful for everything. I hadn't spoken to Liam in so long and I like it that way.
The teams came out and everyone cheered. I cheered for everyone, especially my boyfriend. They played really well and every time they scored a goal, I was cheering and screaming the loudest for them.
They went out for a quick break and I was anxiously waiting for them to return. The scores were even and there were only a few seconds left in the match.
Alex was chosen for the free kick and I was freaking out like the rest of them. I wanted him to score. He quickly looked at me and I blew him a kiss as he smiles and turns around for his turn.
"And Alex Peyton says the day!" the commenter says as Alex scores the goal and I was jumping. I was so happy for him. He ran around and hugged all his mates. They lifted him up and cheered for him as well.
"Guys, just a small interruption," Alex says and all the cheers quiet down. The entire stadium was quiet.
"Avery? Can you come over here?" Alex says into the microphone and all the eyes were on me. He signaled for me to come to him and I stood up and was escorted towards him.
"As all of you know, this is Avery Brooke. But what you might not is how amazing, sweet, caring, lovely, goofy and beautiful she is," he says holding my hand and I laugh. I was confused too.
"I am the way I am now because of her. She has given me so much courage and support that now I feel like I am the luckiest man in the world to have her. I just want to say that I love you Avery," he says out loud and the whole stadium goes 'awe'.
"And I want to spend the rest of my life with my lucky woman. So Avery Brooke, will you marry me?" he asks going on his knee and holds out a huge 3.75 carat pear shaped diamond embedded in a platinum ring in it and my eyes were wide open. The whole stadium gasped.
"Yes!" I say as he slips the ring on to my finger and kisses me and everyone cheered for us. They were all clapping and screaming. This was the confirmation that Alex and I were dating that the whole world had been waiting for but we didn't give them.
Everyone kept chanting our name in the stadium and we slipped our arms around each other and looked at everyone. I was happy. I did love Alex and I was happy that he and I are now engaged.
The trophy was given to the winners and I was cheering for my fiancé. We posed for some pictures for the press, fans and other team mates and everyone was happy for us. We got out and sat in our car.
"Mom, dad, Dave and Jess, I am engaged," I say group calling them and they told me that they already knew it.
"How?" I ask surprised.
"Well Alex asked for our blessing and it's all over the news," Mom says and I was shocked. I had been engaged for only about 30 minutes and everyone knew about it already? This was way too quick for the world to know about our engagement.
"Well, congratulations the both of you," dad says and we end the call. The car started and I kissed him. He kissed me back and I smile at him. I was happy with Alex.
I had to unfortunately fly back to California because I had a photo shoot and an interview since they wanted me to be on their magazine cover for their celebrity issue and I was happy that they chose me.
I was dropped off at the airport and I kissed Alex one last time at the airport as the press took pictures and I checked in. People recognized me and asked me to take pictures with them and I did because fans were a huge part of my life.
"Congratulations," the air attendant says as she hands me some champagne as I sit in my seat in the business class.
"Thank you," I say as I see her noticing my ring. It was big in fact and I wanted to show it off. I wanted to see what was happening in the world and Liam's name popped up. When I saw his pictures, he looked so different.
His hair was bleached blonde, had tattoos on his arm. The tattoos weren't covering up his sleeves but they were there and they were less than 10 on each hand. He seemed so different from the time we split up about 10 months ago till now. He was on a gossip magazine for getting in a fight with someone.
Why did he change so much? The Liam I knew was so soft and caring and this Liam was just so different. He was also seemed to be seen with a new girl almost every day and I knew some of them personally and I heard that they have had casual sexual encounters multiple times. This was not normal of him.
I closed my device because I had enough about thinking about Liam. I was now with Alex and I was happy with him.
