Chapter 16
Avery
"Avery, come on," Liam says as I am in his house, packing up all of my things I had left behind. I broke up with him about a few days ago and the news was viral. Everyone knew about it.
"Avery, you can't leave me," he says coming in front of me as I search for my clothes and shoes I have left behind and put it in the suitcase I brought with me.
"Avery, talk to me," he says and I shut my suitcase and stare at him.
"You want to talk? Let's talk. How was she?" I ask and he stares at me.
"What?" he asks and I cross my hands over my chest.
"How was she? Was she better than me?" I ask once again.
"She was different," he says and I scoff and take the newspapers that were on his bed and hit his arm with it repeatedly as he moved back in defense. He covered his head as I attacked.
"You ruined everything Liam," I say throwing the papers down and break down. This was hard on me.
"You and I, we had a beautiful relationship but you went and screwed someone else," I say with a shaking voice.
"I am sorry for that. Can we try again?" he asks and I shake my head.
"I can't because every time I look at you, she comes in my mind and the graphic of the both of you is not decent," I say moving back and rub my temples as tears fell down my cheek.
"Avery, I gave you everything," he says and I stop to look at him.
"You are a different person to me right now and I hate that person," I say dragging my suitcase behind me as I walk out of his bedroom. I saw the watch on the table I had given him when we broke up as his birthday present.
"Oh and this, make sure you give to that girl who you slept with," I say taking off my ring and place it in his hands and walk towards my car where I put the suitcase in my trunk and closed it.
"I gave you fame, recognition and a new way of living. I am the reason everyone knows you and I am the reason you make so much money now. You would be nothing without me," he says angrily and I stare at him in disbelief. Did he really just go there?
"I am sorry, that is not the way I wanted to come off as," he says but his words hurt me.
"You know what Liam. Sure you are the reason I have fame now but remember this, my riff off went viral, without your name being in it and I could've done this without you but you- I just can't believe you right now," I say and he stays quiet.
"Avery, you can't do this, we can get over this," he says and I look at him.
"No Liam, we can't. I am done," I say.
"I am so done with you and your lies and excuses," I say and he got angry too.
"But Avery, this shit happens. I am sorry," he says and I stare at him.
"You serious right now? So now if I slept with someone else while we were still together, you would be fine with it?" I ask and he nods.
"So if I tell you that we had this hot, steamy sex-," he stops me by closing hi ears.
"You know what Liam, I am tired. I was never good enough for you. You got tired of me and you went for someone else to have sex. I can't be in a relationship where I am not valued," I say sitting in my car and he runs up to my window.
He screams for my name and I drive faster and go to a quiet park where I park and cry my lungs out. I acted tough in front of him but I was not fine with breaking up with him because I loved him, more than I have ever loved my partner in the past.
I gave him everything and he just threw it away. He argued that he was drunk but his apology never felt genuine. His words did hurt me. He took me for granted too and I let him do it just because I loved him.
I go to a secret, private bar where all the "famous" people hang out when they want an escape from drama and attention. Liam and I used to go there but not I am going there alone. They let me in and the music was loud and the lights were dim.
"Avery?" someone says as I take a shot of my drink and I turn around to see Amelia Evans standing in front of me. Amelia and I had become very close over the past few years and I didn't know she was in LA.
"Amelia!" I say and we hug. It felt so nice meeting someone I already know because I know that I can rely on her.
"I am so sorry," she says and as soon as she said that, I broke down in tears. I held it together for so long but now that she mentions it, I couldn't anymore. We walk to one of the private rooms where we can talk without being interrupted or spied on.
"He cheated on me Amelia," I start and she nods.
"I heard he was kissing some lady in the bar in Chicago," she says and I shake my head leaving her confused.
"He wasn't just kissing her, he slept with her," I say and she was shocked.
"We had a fight the night before he left and his excuse for cheating on me was that I got too busy. He blamed it on me and when I went to get my things today, he told me that I was nothing without him. He seems so different now," I say and she hugs me really tight as I tell her everything.
"You know what Avery? Liam was too good for you. I am not saying this just to make you feel better but I know you Avery and I see how smart, young, kind and talented you are but under Liam, you weren't given the attention you deserve. You were known as his girlfriend and now you can prove that you are better than him," she says and I nod. She was right.
"Look Avery, we all have been hurt before. We all have been betrayed by our boyfriends and it hurts but you have to move on and show him that you are better off without him, which will make him feel bad about leaving you," she says and I nod.
"So, now we have to stop crying over that pathetic excuse for a human and go celebrate the new phase of your life, your real success time," she says and I smile. We stand up and she takes my hand and we walk out in open.
We went shopping, pampered ourselves and I had a good time and forgot all about him. Amelia really was my angel in disguise who rescued me and is making me a better person. The paparazzi were following us but I didn't care because I wanted people to know that I am much happier without him.
"Emma?" I say calling my manager and she picks up the phone as we sit for dinner at a restaurant.
"Yes Avery. How are you?" she asks and I smile. I have spoken to her about Liam because we are very close and she has supported me through these tough times.
"I am very good and I think I want to release a song. I want to come to the studio and write a song. So is Noah available?" I ask mentioning Noah Miller, my friend and an amazing songwriter.
"Yes, I just checked with him and he is willing to meet you tomorrow and Avery, let me tell you that I am so proud of you right now," she says and we end the call.
"Guess who is releasing a new song," I say and Amelia was excited for me too. Amelia was about 5 years older than me; she was so much mature and smarter than me. She was the older sister I never had.
We took some pictures and posted it on our own social media accounts and this would be my first one in a few weeks since Liam and I broke up and people immediately were talking about it and how I wasn't upset about it anymore.
We went our separate ways and I go back to my apartment and see some of Liam's things in it. I call up Natalie, my personal assistant and asked her drop of his box of things tomorrow and she agreed.
I went on my laptop and I started looking through new houses to move in to since Liam didn't want me to move into a new house, and now I can since he isn't in my life. I saw the house I love in Beverly Hills and I booked it for visiting in the next week and I closed my laptop and got up, feeling good.
I took a long bath, got changed and slept peacefully and I really was excited for the day that was ahead of me.
