Avery

"I don't think it's a good idea Ash," I say looking at him as we pulled up in New York. We were here to meet my parents after I met his about two weeks ago. He insisted that he meets them because he considers this very important.

"Of course it is," he says kissing my head. This would be the first time in a year that I would be seeing my family because I never wanted to see them. I stayed in my apartment even during my vacations despite them asking me to come home.

"So, whom are we meeting first?" he asked and I sigh.

"I have called my mom, dad, and my step mom and step dad earlier and asked them to meet me for lunch and they have agreed to get my step siblings too. So you will be meeting everyone," I say and Liam looked excited.

As we got out of the car, we saw the paparazzi capturing pictures of us. I didn't know who leaked the information that we will be here but it just frustrated me because I was already nervous about Liam meeting my family.

Our security escorted us into the restaurant where everyone recognized us and started whispering. Some stopped us to take pictures with them and we did and we were taken to the private hall where we were informed that my family was waiting for me.

"Thank you," I say to the waitress who escorted us to the first floor and she smiled walking away. The doors were opened for us as we walked in and I looked at myself in the mirrors that were placed in the hallway.

I was dressed in a simple summery spaghetti strapped daisy mini dress with an oversized white jacket over my shoulders and white sneakers paired with hoop ear rings and my hair was pulled up in a messy bun and I had minimal makeup on my face.

"Hey!" mom says coming up to me and gives me a big hug even though I stayed stiff.

"Ash, my mom and this is Liam, my boyfriend," I say and Liam gives mom a big hug.

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Warren," he says and mom was happy to meet him, I could tell.

"Adriana please. Come on," she says leading us to the table where everyone looked at us. My step siblings were freaking out seeing us, maybe because we were now famous but it didn't matter to me.

"Ash, this is Daniel, my mom's husband," I say and they do their introductions.

"This is Jack, he's 10 years old, Addison, and she's 14 years old. They are mom's and David's kids," I say and they all greet him.

"This is my dad, Mike and his wife Jess," I say and he greets them too.

"This is Harvey, he's 13 years old, Andrew is 14 and Ashley is 17. They are dad's and Jess's kids," I say and they all greet each other.

"And everyone this is Liam, my boyfriend," I say and they all nod at him. He pulls out the chair for me and I smile at him.

"Thank you," I say sitting down and he sits down next to me. Ashley was next to me as Harvey sat next to Liam. The waiter took our orders and went to get out food.

"It's so good to finally see you Avery. It's been over a year since we've seen you," Jess says and I look at her.

'Of course. No problem Jess," I say. I used to call her Aunt Jess but it would be weird if I called her aunt so now I just call her by her first name.

"I hear that your duet is number one on billboard. How does it feel?" Daniel asked.

"It is a pleasure. We are so grateful for it," Liam replied and I smile.
