Mabel didn't know what happened she remembered the sinking feeling in her stomach and distant screams but that was all as she floated through the river with life and death keeping a close eye on the child
Life had managed to get the child before death could as the river brought her somewhere more safe as it began to turn blue as they entered the more crowded part of the woods with the trees blocking any sun whatsoever
She eas brought onto shore softly as life and death stared down at her, death had accepted that he would just have to wait for this one while life wanted to make sure death just wasn't bluffing (he did it before) she liked this creation of hers, not to say that she didn't love the rest of the world she had made, she was just surprised about this girls destiny
She had also been quite surprised about the boy who had last been heres destiny, so tragic she almost felt sorry,almost
Death had stared into life herself as he watched her loving and calm gaze turn into a malicious one, her face was calm but you can see it in her eyes, she had always made sure that she would seem like the beacon of everlasting light while he was just an endless pit of darkness waiting to consume anything
But they just didn't understand, they never do until its to late
The thought of everlasting life was so appealing to mortals that life just couldn't help herself, such poor souls
Out of the reach of death who was unable to help them escape the ruthless clutches of life as she picks on a selected few to torture with emortality, death had tried to get others on his side but they simply couldn't fight against the goddess of life who had created them
They saw the evil in her but they couldn't help
Death was all alone in this, the only one to be completely free from life's clutches, the only one who can kill the powerful goddess, the only one to save those who would suffer in eternity
He will strike, he will rain down on those in earth, including life herself and although it was a seemingly impossible task he had to try to help as much creatures as he could as one touch from him would send them in a everlasting sleep
He didn't realize he was inching closer to the girl as he reached his hand down to touch the girl in order to save her from whatever destiny had in store
He felt something smack his hand as he pulled away with a wince and looked at life who was glaring daggers at him with a stick in her hands and pointing it at death seemingly trying to be menacing
"No" was all she said as death looked up at her with his soulless eyes before he had realized what he would have done
He stood up and turned away dissapearing in a puff of smoke, life looked at the place where he had left and looked down on the child before turning away and dissapearing in a flash of light
