Nap Dates: Cody Fern

It had been a couple of weeks since that faithful night where Cody would save you from the most terrible date of your life and since then you two had mainly been comunicating through texts, phone calls, and the occosinal face time due to your busy schedules but you had hoped that would change soon.

Right now you were home trying to catch up on some sleep when your phone vibrated causing you to groan. You grabbed your phone off your nightstand and saw that Cody was calling you which made you smile a little.

"Hey sweetheart, how are you doing today?" He asked.

"Trying to catch up on some sleep, how are you doing?" You asked tiredly. 

"I'm doing good, I was hoping that we could do something today but I don't want to take away from your sleep." He says making you smile.

"Well you wouldn't be if you just came over and napped with me because I would like to see you too." You said.

"Actually that does sound nice. So text me your address and I'll head over there." He said.

"Alright, see you soon then." You said hanging up and quickly sending him your address.

After you texted him, you quickly made your way downstairs and made sure the apartment was picked up because you and your roommates had a tendency to leave things a little messy during the week with your hetic lives. About ten minutes later I heard the sound of a car door shutting, so you made your way backstairs just as he knocked on the front door.

"Hey you made it. Please come in." You said holding Tobey back so he wouldn't tackle Cody.

"Who is this?" He asks scratching Tobeys head.

"Tobey, he's my roommates dog I just didn't want him to tackle you since he gets so excited." I said releasing Tobey.

"He's cute but not as cute as you are." He said causing my cheeks to warm up.

"Thanks, I'm sorry that this isn't a normal first date but I didn't think you wanted to deal with tired me yet." I said with a small smile.

"I'm sure I could handle tired you but don't worry about it at least I won't have to wait another month to see you."  He says reaching for your hand.

"It's hasn't been a month, it's only been a few weeks which was out of my control." You said with a laugh.

You two made your way upstairs to your room where you walked over and gave your rabbit pancakes some love since he was standing up at his cage.

"Who is this fluffy baby?" He asks gently rubbing his hand through pancakes fur.

"Pancakes, I just adopted him a few weeks ago. His previous owners just kept him as a show animal, never gave him affection or anything which I don't understand because he's just so sweet." You said pressing a kiss to pancakes forehead.

"I don't understand either. People get animals just to not to take care of them which sad because they just want love and attention like us." He says as you put pancakes back into his cage.

"So I'm in the middle of watching The Sopranos right now, so we can either start it over or you can choose something to watch." You said.

"How far are in the Sopranos because I've been wanting to watch that." He says taking a seat on the bed next to you. 

"Season Two but I can back it up because I've probably slept through half of the episodes." I said quickly reloading it back to season one before he saw any spoilers. 

For the first hour you two laid there watching the show and you would occosinally have to explain a few things to him about what was happening and him saying that you sort of act like tony soprano which earned a laugh from you. But then a slow episode came on and you felt your eyes start getting heavy. 

You don't know how long you were asleep for but when you woke up, the show was stop at episode seven and the side of the bed where cody was laying was empty. You wondered if he had left after you fell asleep as you stood up and stretched before leaving your room where you heard banging from the kitchen which confused you. 

You walked into your kitchen and saw two plates with takeout on the table while Cody shuffled through your cabinets looking for cups which made you laugh. 

"If your looking for cups, there in the cabinet above the dishwasher." You said deciding to make your prescence known. 

"Jesus you scared me but thank you I was starting to think you didn't have any." He says with a laugh. 

"So uh what's all this?" You asked motioning to the food before you guys. 

"Well you see before you had fallen asleep you mentioned something about wanting chinese food and so I thought that we could have dinner, sort of like dinner and a movie but then you fell asleep and I didn't know what to order so luckily your roomate Bea came home to change and check on you and I may've asked her what your typically ordered and she told me." He says nervously making me laugh. 

"It's lovely, thank you." You said giving him a small smile as you sat down to eat.
