You couldn't explain the connection between you and Michael but for some reason, you felt safe around him. Since his arrival, you two had become close much to the distaste of the other survivors, a lot of them thought you sought his attention trying to secure your spot at the Sanctuary but it wasn't like that at all. He was the first to approach casually asking you about your drawings and the conversation flowed between you two like you had been friends for years and from that point on, he would ask you to walk with him around the outpost, come to sit with you while you sketched, he never made you feel scared in fact you felt safe with him.

Micheal had been finalizing up his last interview for the night when he heard the small whimpers coming from down the hall, so he made his way down the hall to find out what the source of the noise was. As he reached your door, he could hear your whimpers growing louder like you were struggling and he could feel the fear radiating off of you. He carefully unlocked your door and walked into your room, hating that he was invading your privacy like this.

"Princess wake up." He said gently shaking you.

"No! Please! I won't do it again." You mumbled in your sleep which confused him even more.

"Y/N." He said a little bit louder causing your eyes to shoot open as your chest heaved up and down as you tried to figure out what was going on.

"Deep breathes. Match your breathing to mine princess." He said pulling you against his chest.

After few minutes you were finally calmed down still trying to process what Micheal was doing here in your room when you were pretty sure that you fell asleep by yourself.

"Are you alright Y/N?" He asked.

"Yeah. Did I wake the whole outpost?" You asked quietly.

"No. I was finishing up a last minute interview, and i could faintly hear whimpers coming from down the hall, figuring you were doing something worst I came just to check on you but as I got your door I could feel your sadness and the pain and it was killing me so I came in to wake you up." He said making you smile a little.

"Thank you. I haven't had them since the bombs dropped but I guess something triggered them." You said quietly.

"Can I ask what is giving you the nightmares?" He asked pulling away so he could look at you.

"Um could you use your magic? I feel like I could show it to you better than I can tell you." You asked knowing this would be the first time he would use his magic on you.

He nodded and gently placed a hand on your cheek as he began picking through your memories that included your step dad abusing in more ways than one since the age of 16 to the abuse you've suffered at Venables hands before he arrived.

"I'm so sorry that you went through of all that only for it to start again when you got here." He said looking at you.

"It's alright, I'm used to it." You said quietly.

"You shouldn't be, you are one of the few good people left in this world and you should know that as long as I'm around that will never happened again." He said placing a kiss on your forehead.
