Save Your Tears: Xavier Plympton

I saw you dancing in a crowded room, 

You look so happy when I'm not with you

But then you saw me, caught you by surprise, 

A single teardrop falling from your eye

Xavier was on his way to grab a drink when his eyes landed on those familiar pink streaks that belonged to Dinah laughing and dancing with the girls, he didn't think that she would be here tonight.  He noticed how happier she seemed without him around anymore. He was about to leave when Dinah made eye contact with him and it was like time stood still for the both of them the only thing that seemed to move was the tear falling down her cheek. He hated that he was still the cause of her pain. 

You could've asked me why I broke your heart,

 You could've told me that you fell apart 

But you walked past me like I wasn't there, 

And just pretended like you didn't care

Xavier half expected Dinah to come up and ask him about why he broke up with her or tell him how broken she was. But instead, she just pushed past him as if he was just another person and not the guy who broke her heart but he could see that the tears were threatening to spill from her eyes from his actions.

As Xavier was grabbing his drink, he couldn't help but think about how badly he wanted to be the one that Dinah was dancing with and making her laugh. He hated that his presence still made her upset even after three months. He stood there sipping his drink debating on whether or not he should leave because he didn't want her crying over him. He wasn't worth it, she should save her tears for something else. 

So, I made you think that I would always stay,

I broke your heart like someone did to mine, 

And now you won't love me for a second time

Xavier knew he broke Dinah's hurt by leaving the way he did because he promised her that he would always be around and never leave as everyone else did to her. When he broke up with her, he said some things that he would've never said to her or anyone he cared about, but he needed to get her not to be around him for a while with Blake threatening him and those he cared about and knew he wouldn't get a second chance with her after the mess he made.

Xavier wanted more than anything for Dinah to take him back because she was the only girl he had truly loved and could see himself settling down with. He knows it's too late for him and Dinah to be together and that she deserves someone better than him. He wished that she would save her tears for another day and try to enjoy tonight.
