The Beautiful and The Damned: Prof! Duncan Shepard

It wasn't that Duncan had planned on falling for one of his students when agreed to fill in for one of the teachers who had left for maternity leave, he figured easy three months since the teacher had most of the assignments laid out but the second his eyes landed on the blue-haired beauty who would be known as Luca, he knew he was fucked. 

Over the course of the two months the two had developed some form of relationship, he was impressed to hear thoughts or ideas the few times she would speak up during class and he saw her grade improving since his arrival. Luca on the other hand found herself focusing more on what the attractive professor Shepard had to say, and started putting more effort into the class that she once hated. 

It wasn't until almost two years later that Duncan would attempt anything with her, he ended up taking over for her previous teacher which meant Luca was in most of his classes which killed them both but it also brought them closer in a way, he learned that despite her positive outlook, she hasn't always had the best and the relationship with her mother prove that, especially the night he had to come bail her out of jail for defending herself against her mom's boyfriend. 

"I'm sorry I had to call you. I promise I'll pay you back." Luca said looking up at him. 

"That doesn't matter. Are you alright?"  He asked noticing her bloody knuckles as the guard came over and unlocked her cell. 

"I'm fine, I should probably find somewhere to crash for the night. Thank you again Duncan." She said quietly. 

"Luca why don't you just stay the night with me?  I already know you can't go home and I know you wouldn't have called me if any of your friends were in town." Duncan said making her look at him. 

Luca was exhausted after the night that happened and just wanted to go somewhere and sleep and just deal with everything in the morning. She let Duncan walk over to her softly wrapping an arm around her shoulder as she lead her out to his car. 

"You can take a seat on the couch, I'll get the first aid kit." He said once they were back at his penthouse making his way towards the bathroom. 

Luca was sliently freaking out, she shouldn't be here for many reasons and one of those is that she would never be able to afford to fix anything if she were to break it. As Duncan came back he could see the panic in her eyes and knew she was sliently freaking out about how expensive everything was. 

"Don't think about that, most of this stuff is merely materialistic that my mother bought me." He says sitting down on the couch and gently grabbing her hand. 

As he cleaned her wounds, she slowly started to open up to him about how she ended up in jail tonight and by the time he was finished she was a crying mess feeling everything from the fight with her mother and her boyfriend hit her like a ton of bricks. Duncan set the stuff down and gently wiped her tears with his thumbs hating to see her like this and before he could even process what he was doing, he pressed his lips against hers. 

"Luca I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that, it was very unprofessional of me." Duncan started to say but was cut off by Luca kissing him. 

Duncan leaned back into the couch and pulled her into his lap as the kisses got more heated which eventually lead to something more between the two of them. The next morning when Luca had woken up she had hoped that maybe this could work between them since there was only two weeks left in the semster. 

"I'm sorry Luca, I really wish we could but then questions would arise about our meeting and everything." He said trying not to hurt any more than he was. 

"No need to apoligize for anything, I should get going. See you in class Monday, Mr. Shepard." She said bitterly leaving his penthouse. 

Luca managed to keep herself together while heading back to her dorm where she broke down once she got inside.  Her friend Kayla heard her in tears and rushed over to her pulling her into her arms where Luca told her about everything that happened. 

It had been roughly four weeks since that night and neither one of them could start thinking about it or what could be between them. Duncan realized that he made a mistake that morning and tried despertly to talk to Luca but she would always send Kayla to get her assignments or she would just email him through her school account to get them until one day. 

Duncan had stepped out his office to go grab a coffee from the student lounge since it tasted better and was met with a shock when he returned and saw Luca in his office. 

"Is everything okay Luca?" He asked making her curse mentally at not sending Kayla to drop off the bail money. 

"Uh yeah I was just dropping off the money I owe you for bailing me out of jail, I really appreicate you doing that for me." She said handing him the envelope. 

"Luca I already told you that you didn't have to pay me back." He said. 

"Yeah well that was before everything happened and I won't be back next semster so this is the last time I'll probably see you." She said. 

"Luca look I haven't been able to stop thinking about that night and the mistake I made that morning." He said reaching for her hand. 

"Please don't. You already broke my heart once, please don't do it again." She said through tears.

"Luca this is all new territory for me, I never expected to fall for one of my students and to think about all things that could happen if we got caught but I do know that I would like to give this a chance if you still do." He said lifting her chin so she was looking at him. 

"You mean that?"  Luca asked looking up at him with hope in her eyes.
