Is it him or is it me?

Xavier didn't understand where your head was at anymore but he was tired of playing the waiting game for your heart. To him, it was simple enough that you were either gonna choose him or Billy your asshole boyfriend who didn't appreciate you the way you deserved to be appreciated.

Xavier was hoping that he wasn't wasting his time by waiting around to see if you were gonna break up with Billy or not. He prayed that everything you had told him over the summer was true and that you two would finally get to be together and that you weren't playing with his emotions like everyone has because it was very rare for him to open up to anyone let alone be nervous around a girl.

You were so hard to find

The beautiful ones, they hurt you every time

You and Xavier invited you over for your weekly dinner where you usually helped him pick out new songs to incorporate into the playlists for his classes but they would sometimes end up with you watching movies or tangled in the sheets.  

"Is that time? I should get going." You said sitting up wrapping the sheet around you. 

"Do you have to? I enjoy having you here." He said placing a kiss on your shoulder making you feel even more guilty at what you were doing, you didn't want to drag him into the mess that was happening between you and Billy. 

"You know I would nothing more to stay here with you.." You started to say as he captured your lips with his, silently telling making it known that you were staying with him tonight.

Later on, that night as you slept soundly in his arms Xavier couldn't help but think how lucky he was to have run into you that day at the studio. You were seemed so full of life a smile on your face as you finished talking to his boss before promptly running into him and spilling your coffee all over him. Over the next two years, you two would become such great friends which shocked everyone in the friend group because Xavier hardly kept girls as friends but to him, you were everything, and sometimes he felt that you deserved better and that better came along apparently in the form of Billy.

Xavier never thought about settling down or even having a future with just one person. He always assumed that he would never be settled down or tied to one person as he was very dedicated to his acting career but then you entered his life and everything changed for him.

You refused to call them dates because you tied to Billy in more ways than one, but Xavier did, and after your fifth one where you two ended up going to a Prince concert because Billy hates Prince, after spending the whole night singing and dancing and seeing you so carefree and happy you were, he realized that he was in love with you and he so wanted to tell you but didn't because he didn't know where your head was at anymore. 

But then he often found himself thinking about marriage when he comes home and you two would talk about each other's day. He could see himself being married to you and enjoying it because in his eyes you were going to make the perfect wife someday and hoped that it would be with him.

You made him feel very confused about what was going between you two because sometimes it felt like you two were friends that fooled around but then at other times it felt you two were in an actual relationship and it killed him to think that you were just messing with his feelings.

Xavier couldn't do this anymore, he was starting to think about using again which was something that he hasn't done since the whole Blake situation. He needed you to make your decision sooner or later whether it meant your friendship was over or you two finally got together.

Was it going to be him or Billy? All Xavier knew was that he wanted you, and he wanted you more than acting something he never thought he say. He needed to hear you say that you wanted him the same way he wanted you. He has to know that he wasn't waiting around for you to decide that Billy was the one you really wanted.

Xavier didn't have a lot of answers for the future and about where he was going to be or what he was going to be doing but there was one thing about Xavier that made him very special is that he knew what he wanted.

At this point, Xavier was practically begging for you to choose him the one that would make sure you knew how much he loved and appreciated you and that you would always be taken care of. You would never be second best in his eyes, he wanted you more than anything he has ever wanted in his life, he just hoped that you could see that.
