Chapter 20: Ex's and O's

Leigh-Anne's POV

After waking up and going on my run, I shower and get ready for my day. "I never understood how you could wake up so early just to run.", Jesy says from behind me. "Because once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.", I say putting my jewelry on. "Could never be me.", she mumbles before resting her head back on the pillow. "Nope, up you get, we have a long day of interviews. I'm gonna go start on breakfast, you get up the other two.", I say rushing out the room before she could object. "Morning Luke and others.", I say taking out some pans. "Why does Luke get addressed? We're here too.", Cal says.

"That's why I said, "and others". Keep up Calum.", I say hitting his head lightly with the spatula. "Hey Leigh? You don't have to answer if you don't want to but, what's your ex's name again?", Mikey asks catching me off guard. "Which one?", I ask. "The one from a while ago.", he answers. "About my height? Jordan. Why?", I question trying to keep out the bad memories. "He's a got a new girlfriend. She's pretty nice looking.", he answers. "You're telling me why? We've both moved on. And I clearly upgraded, I mean have you seen Jesy?", I ask with a laugh. "Yeah but in a recent interview, he said he was looking to talk to you.", Calum says making me pause in my tracks.

"He what? Please tell me I didn't hear you right.", I say placing my hands on the counter. "He wants to talk to you. Seems pretty important too, he might try to steal you back.", he jokes. The plate in my hand drops, but my ears can only register to sound of my racing heart. "I heard a plate drop, is everything ok?", Jade asks coming out of the study area. I step over the broken glass and run out into the backyard. "He can't come back, he can't come back. He can't come back, he can't.", I say holding the sides of my head. "Leigh-Anne what's the matter? Is it something I said?", Calum asks as they pile out to the backyard.

I try to answer but my chest becomes tight and I couldn't breath. "She's having a panic attack. One of you go get Jesy.", Jade says. Luke runs off into the house as the world starts fading. "Hey hey, Leigh. Come on stay with me.", Jade says lightly slapping my face. I look up at her and she nods giving me an encouraging smile. "Alright I'm here. What's the matter?", I hear Jesy's voice say. "She's having a panic attack but Jade calmed it down a little.", Ashe answers. Jesy clicks her tongue and takes me out of Jade's arms before standing me up and pressing my head on to her shoulder. "Let it out, it's ok.", she whispers stroking my back.

I cry into her shirt for a little bit before my breathing returns to normal, Jesy pulls back. "Do you want to talk about it?", she questions rubbing my arms. "Calum told me the Jordan wanted to talk to me and my brain just couldn't handle that information.", I answer. "I know that you probably just want to stay home right now but you can't. Will you be alright?", she questions. "I don't know. I mean what's the odds of him being in California? And if he is here coincidentally, what's the probability of him being in the same area that we are. Even though it's not likely it is too close to call because when he wants something he won't stop until he gets it and-," "Alright that's enough for you. Jade go get Perrie, boys, get ready for you day. Leave us.", Jesy says cutting off my rambling.

"Take a deep breath and count to fifteen.", she says grabbing my shoulders. I follow her instructions, and by the time I get to fifteen I'm calmer than before. "Thanks, that helped a lot.", I say. "Good. Now let's get our day started, I left your pills on your bedside table.", she says grabbing my hand. We walk through the house until she places the two pills in my hand. "I'm trusting you to not sneak an extra one while I'm gone. I know exactly how many are in that bottle and if there's not the same amount when I come back you'll never hear the end of it.", she says pointing a finger to me.
