plot:
A MISFORTUNATE chain of events leaves Nicolette in the care of the lowly Doctor on call that night. The girl, being marked as a Jane Doe since entering into the emergency room that evening, was only a fleeting glimpse in the amount of patients he had to care for. However as time progressed this interest towards who she was and what she was like before the accident became the only thing that is warping through his mind.
After she wakes up from her coma to the cautious doctor waiting at her bedside, she's unaware of the amount of attention he'd been giving even before the two had a proper conversation. The adoration becomes excessive there after, bordering on overbearing in the perspective of the girl simply grateful to still have her life. Then came the question of such devotion becoming a matter of longing or obsession.

• based on the idea of the Florence Nightingale effect, in which a caretaker falls in love with their patient • the obsessive nature can honestly be seen as either overbearing or hella attractive i saw it as either way
• Nicolette is also a coma patient so at the beginning of this is just a lot of staring and longing so 🤭🥴
• barely speaks, v. soft spoken in nature so gradually opens up to Paul
• the misadventures of the accident that brought her to the hospital should be given in tidbits as to draw out the plot more
• essentially the nightingale effect implicates the caregiver falling out of love once their patient no longer seeks their attention. so take that with a grain of salt 👁👁
• limerence definition: crushing obsession with another person; focused on the reciprocation of feelings
