potential OC name: Olivia Day
potential title: Victim of Circumstance
setting: 1980 - 1983
plot:
TRIPS CAN often make one person feel sentimental, especially when constantly moving on the road. Under the circumstances of Joan, however, she was living her dream at least by having formed a band of her own with a path drawn out to becoming a rock and roll hall of famer by the time her career was through. Brandy was a complete opposite from the thrilling lifestyle. She was stuck in the same town, in the same house, with the same job as a bartender in the local pub just off the freeway.
Every night she'd meet people, some of them being as dull as you'd expect them to be, and others with the most unbelievable stories she'd ever come to hear. One in particular being that of a woman, stopping by for a drink after her concert apparently at three a.m..
song inspiration: • Victim of Circumstance by Joan Jett • Whole Wide World by Reckless Eric
notes:
• met Joan post-Bad Reputation album and in the middle of I Love Rock n' Roll recording sessions
• Olivia definitely romanticizes the idea of traveling the world someday
•meet through the course of Joan purposefully making stops to the bar in the hopes to see her 🥺
• doesn't believe she's actually Joan Jett at first and their entire first meeting is pretty much Joan trying to convince her of this
•^ queue an unintentionally singing from the jukebox of a Bruce Springsteen song (!!)
• obviously Olivia is used to people telling her their stories and she doesn't think she's important to actually share her own which is why she's so soft when Joan actually asks her what she wants to do 🥺
• also will def offer to take Olivia on tour with her to just travel around by her side and she's shy towards the idea at first and nervous and wanted to actually do this on her own
• Olivia also definitely is a major Tommy James & the Shondells fan and is the reason why Joan records her cover of Crimson and Clover, yes yes
