it's been a week, in secret you are Draco are great. you snuck out to his room tonight and you both can't figure out what to do, until he shows you his collection of books he likes to read in his spare time. you're both kneeling on the floor as he pulls the big box out from under the bed.

it's full of books, including that diary you found last week. "these are my books, see any that interest you?" "all of them, but if i had to choose..." you run your finger alone the spines of the books, pulling one out and handing it to him. "i haven't read this one yet, we can read it together"

"really?" you ask with a smile. "yeah, is that okay?" "of course" "great" he walks over to his bed and sits on it, you sit close beside him while he opens it up.

you detail his face while he focuses on opening the book to the right page, watching his expressions, admiring his features. you remember something about him, wondering how you should talk about it.

He distracts you from his thoughts by turning his head to look at you, "you okay?" he asks. "yeah... i was just thinking, you haven't had like much affection in your life really... have you?" "uh... what makes you ask?" "well, i wanted to... do something. i just didn't want to freak you out"

"what is it?" you hesitate before taking the book out of his hands gently, moving closer to the point your bodies are touching. you help him lay back before laying beside him, your head on his chest. he feels nervous, but only in the sense that he's never been able to do this before with anyone.

he wraps his arm around you, holding you closer and taking the book out of your hand. he holds it on his stomach so you can both read the words, as he reads them out loud to you. you're happy knowing that he should be more comfortable with affection towards you now.

you spend about an hour or two reading together in that position, before you speak up. "i should probably go" you look up at him, your chin still on his chest. "don't go" he whispers, making you smile. "i have to, but we can make this a nightly thing? i'll come back tomorrow" "alright..."

he really doesn't want you to leave, he's finally gotten comfortable being more affectionate with you, more intimidate.

"see you tomorrow malfoy" you whisper, leaning in to give his lips a gentle kiss. he cooperates with you, before pulling away with a soft smile. "see you tomorrow darling" he whispers back.

you were not expecting that, your expression completely changed in 0.2 seconds. "what?" he asks concerned, "you called me... nevermind, goodnight" you're smiling uncontrollably wide, giving him a kiss on the cheek before getting off the bed. "goodnight Draco" "goodnight"

he stays laying in that position, watching you open the door and look around carefully to see if anyone's around. when you see that no one is around, you give him a small wave before closing his door behind you. he watches you with a smile, looking down at the book on his lap and thinking about you.

his stomach flutters with the thought of the time you guys spent together, he's starting to rethink a few things in his life.

you make your way back to your room quietly, hoping no one sees you. you open your door quietly, hoping not to wake Luna or Hermione. when the door opens completely, you jump at the sight of Hermione standing there with her arms crossed. she pushes you back out the room in a hurry and closes the door.

"where have you been?" you are now both standing in the hall outside your room, whispering in hopes to not wake Luna. "i was just... with Ron" "no, Ron said goodnight to me not long ago. why are you lying?" "i'm... I'm not"

"then where were you? you've been leaving so often lately out of nowhere. it started when you were dating Cedric but you're not anymore, so what is it? are you still seeing him secretly?" "no! no way, it's nothing important Hermione" "you are always absent, you've been late for class twice this past week, what is going on?"

"Hermione, it's nothing. i don't want to wake Luna so please, stop bothering me about this" "y/n-" you're both interrupted by the door behind you opening, Luna looking tired but confused. "what are you two doing?" "just talking Luna, sorry for waking you" "oh that's alright, i was hardly asleep..."

a moment of silence resides between the three of you, before Luna walks back into the room and closes the door to give the two of you privacy.

"so?" Hermione asks, really pushing this subject. "Hermione, back off" you sternly reply, before pushing past her and walking in the room.

aa. i'm thinking of making a playlist on spotify with songs that remind me of you and Draco in this storyline... would anyone be interested with that? i already have a few songs I've enjoyed listening to while reading affectionate chapters.
