you're spending your time in Draco's room, he hasn't been around a lot lately but he decided to come back for a night to make sure you're okay with everything that's going on.

you're sitting in his bed talking and reading a new book together, a book about romance and horror. you're sitting beside him while he reads out loud, and you watch him close the book and look at you. "are you alright y/n?" "yeah... are you?"

"yeah... i always kind of felt trapped in this place and felt like it wasn't somewhere i wanted to be. now i miss it". "then come back" you say softly, putting your hand on his arm before watching him wince a little and pulling it away. you watch him with confusion, wondering why he did so. "what was that?"

"nothing..." "Draco-" "it's nothing" you watch him in silence, noticing how he's avoiding eye contact with you. "are you hurting yourself-" "no!" "then what? that didn't look like it was nothing" "it's nothing y/n!" he shouts while getting up off the bed, pacing for a moment. he stands still and covers his eyes with his hand, sighing deeply.

"look i am sorry for shouting, but it's nothing", he uncovers his eyes and looks over at you, watching you stare at him dead in the eye. "say something" he begs, but you don't say anything else. you get up off the bed, packing up your things. "y/n-" "look if you want to keep secrets, that's fine... whatever-"

you walk over to Draco, standing close infront of him, "-but quit lying to my face".  you make your way over to the door, ready to leave when he calls your name. "y/n wait!" "what?" you ask rudely, turning around and watching him at a loss for words. "well- i just don't want you to judge"

"i'm not going to judge you draco, you know this" "i don't know about this one...". he signals for you to come closer, you put your things down and walk over to him. "what is it?" you whisper. you watch him hesitate, before he begins to softly and slowly pull his sleeve up.

you watch his wrist, not knowing what to expect. your eyes widen slightly at the sight of black ink, and your heart beats faster with every inch he pulls the sleeve up. you step back a little when you see the entire mark, feeling a mix of emotions. "what is that?" you ask, your breath heavy.

"you know what it is..." he says quietly, watching your expression which remains the same, concerned. "no... i don't know, you wouldn't have what i think it is, not you-" "y/n, who do you think i am?" he asks, pulling his sleeve down and crossing his arms. "you're... no, you wouldn't-"

"face it y/n! i'm not a good person!" his tone surprises you, light flinches coming from you whenever he raises his voice a little higher. "what did you expect? i'd just change because you asked?" "maybe i did!" "well quit giving yourself false hope y/n, i'm not a good guy, none of my family are good guys"

"so? that automatically means you can't just change?" "yes! i have a reputation, i have things i need to do-" "and that requires becoming a death eater?" "yes! my entire family are death eaters y/n, there's nothing i could've done" "you could've grown the hell up and said no"

"say no? i'd be killed don't you get it?!" "by who?" "voldemort! god... i thought you of all people would understand" "i guess you were wrong huh? look i can't... i can't do this" "do what?" he asks, his voice a little softer now. "this, us. i can't" he looks completely surprised, confused.

"what do you mean you can't do... us?" "i can't be with someone who is loyal to the man trying to harm me and my friends okay? do you know how much of a traitor i'd be to everyone i care about?" "so that's it then? you just want to... end it all?"

"yeah... yeah i do, I'm sorry. i didn't expect this from you, but of course... what was i thinking? you could never stand up to your daddy" you're well aware of how rude you're being, but you can't control yourself. you feel an overwhelming amount of emotions, anger, fury, sadness, regret, relief.

"i hope you truly have fun being a servant to a serial killer, and i hope it was worth losing everything" "who said you're everything to me?" he asks sternly, looking up at your expression.

"you did."

you grab your things and leave the room, not wanting to say another thing. It's all over now, after everything, it's gone. you feel regretful but, the man he's loyal to wants to kill one of your closest friends... and while he may be loyal to voldemort, you're loyal to your friends.
