it's been about two weeks since you broke things off with Draco. Voldemort hasn't been inside your head anymore thankfully, you've had time to let your emotions out and move on. you're still quite upset over the breakup, you did really like Malfoy in the end.

He's been more absent than usual, never in any classes, his friends have barely seen him. When he is here, he always looks mopey and tired, extremely sad. You haven't told anyone why the two of you broke up, you don't want people to know his business or judge him for being what he is.

It's been quite different at hogwarts, there's not much light anymore. Everyone was happy a few months ago until rumours of Voldemort coming back to destroy the school and kill Harry Potter ruined a lot of people's moods. Cho avoids you at all costs after what you did, you had a verbal encounter with Cedric a few days after it happened.

He basically just yelled at you, said some hurtful things and left. You wonder why you ever liked that boy, he always seemed nice at first. Dumbledore and the professors are always whispering, always having meetings. It's like they know something bad is coming but they won't tell anyone.

The worst part of the last few weeks is Professor Umbridge. She has completely flipped the school around, no one is allowed to do practical magic, it's all tests and verbals. No one dares to go against her wishes in public, but Harry did run an idea by you yesterday about secret lessons.

"My only problem is y/n, where do i hold them? Professor Umbridge always seems to know when a student is using magic" "well... who are you planning on inviting?" "i can't invite any slytherins... a lot of them seem to be on the dark side of things. maybe just you, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Nigel, The Patil sisters, Ginny, Fred, George, Cho-"

"not Cho, she's terrified of me" "alright... well i'll get along with telling them all, see if you can find a place for us to work" Harry rushes to grab his things and leave the common room, in a hurry to let students know what you are doing.

You're walking from class with Neville, the two of you were going to study together in the common room. You're both walking back and talking about things, Neville isn't very happy these days, especially now that he can't learn anything. "i felt useless enough not knowing many spells, now i won't be able to learn any at all"

"don't think that way Neville, didn't Harry tell you our plan?" "he said something, i'm just not sure it's going to work" "it will work, we just need to find somewhere to hold the lessons-" you stop walking when you notice Neville isn't beside you, you hear a feint rustling and rumbling noise.

"Neville?" you walk up to him, looking at the wall he's looking at. It was a blank wall, but now there's an imprint coming through slowly. The two of you stare at it, before the imprint turns black and the wall opens like doors. You and Neville give eachother a nervous look before catching Hermione and Ron behind you.

Hermione gasps, "well done you two, you've found the room or requirement. It's also known as the come and go room, it only appears when a person is in need of it" "well we did need a room to work..."

The next day is when the first lessons start, everyone is learning the disarming spell. you already know it, you used it on Pansy when she tried to attack you. A lot of the students in the room haven't learnt it, which is weird considering Hogwarts is supposed to teach you these things.

You also learn the patronus charm a few lessons later. The lessons go well, everyone's managed to keep it well hidden. you notice Neville practicing the way he says some spells or flicks his wand under his desk in normal classes.

When walking to your secret classes, you're stopped by someone you didn't expect to see. "malfoy?" you ask, your tone filled with confusion. "hey y/n..." "what are you doing here?" "i need to warn you about something" "what is it?" you cross your arms over your chest, the two of you standing in the hall alone.

"you didn't hear it from me but... something big is coming to hogwarts. i'm not one to snitch but... i think you specifically, are in danger" "me...? why?" "i don't know, but the dark lord has an interest in you" "what about Harry?" "him too, i think he wants the both of you"

you take a second to register what is being said, feeling anxious about all this.

"when is this happening?" "i'm not sure, all i know is that you should leave, it's not safe for you-" "i'm not leaving Harry, if he wants to kill us, we aren't separating" Draco's silence worries you, random emotions and feelings you wish you didn't feel come back in a hurry.

"i have to go... but i have to ask, why do you even care enough to tell me?" "you broke up with me y/n, not the other way around. i still care about you." He says sternly, his tone sounding upset. He walks away before anything else can be said, you watch him leave your sight, wondering how you're going to tell Harry about this.
