HOGWARTS POV

Back at Hogwarts, it's the day after the battle. The building is half collapsed, the students are all mourning. Draco is currently standing at the edge of the Astronomy tower, looking down over the view, thinking about all his memories with you.

remembering your first kiss, remembering your first dance, the letter he gave you, the way you were always there for him, how you protected him when you found out about Pansy.

"i don't know how i'm supposed to do this without you y/n..." he whispers to himself.

He hasn't slept, he hasn't eaten, he's tired and miserable. He's spent all night crying over you in his dormitory and not wanting to see anyone. Teachers aren't bothering to hold lessons, McGonagall wants to give everyone some time to mourn, including herself.

"you alright?" someone asks behind Draco, he turns toward the voice and sees Ron, nodding before looking out at the stars above him. Ron stands beside him, also looking out at the view.

"you're not thinking of doing anything stupid are you?" he asks, sparking Draco's confusion. "you're not going to jump?" he asks again, Draco shaking his head. "no... she can't just be gone forever though i mean... right?"

"i don't know, Harry and her always had this deep connection somehow, even without being close. he doesn't feel like that connection is gone but we can't just get hope from that"

"what if we can Weasley? what if that's all we need to know that she could be out there?" he asks, looking right into Ron's eyes. Ron maintains eye contact with him without saying anything, before looking down at the railing in his hands.

"she was my best friend malfoy... she meant absolutely everything to me..." Draco leans again the wall, looking at Ron with his arms crossed, ready to listen to what he's about to say.

"she may have had that deep connection with Harry or even a deep connection with you but we were almost always together. she made friends with Hermione first but then she was determined to get to know me...

and that's when we became best friends. i don't regret any of it, she was the nicest and funniest girl i knew". He looks over at Draco to make sure he's listening, noticing that he is and finally accepting that he has changed.

"before she... died, she said she loved me" "really?" Ron asks, standing up straight and leaning against the opposite wall to him, looking over at his expression. "yeah, she said she needed to tell me that and wanted me to fight with you guys"

"i knew she did, she was crazy for you, and miserable without you too" "really?" "yeah, of course. she loved you with everything she had, but she also loved us first, that's why she made her decision to leave you to protect us"

"i know, i understood her choice i just hated it... i really hope she's out there, i can't stand to never see her again, or hold her..." draco whispers. "i know, i hope she is too... have you eaten anything?" Draco shakes his head no.

"let's go eat something together, she wouldn't want you to starve yourself, let's go" He gets up off the wall, encouraging Draco to follow him with hand signals.

Luna has to mourn the death of you and her secret lover, and it pains her but she's managing to stay positive for everyone else. Ginny is trying her hardest to help Harry through the pain and the guilt he feels.

He keeps saying it's all his fault, that he shouldn't of let you go with him, but she's trying her hardest to keep him intact.

Neville had a crush on you when you first moved there, that crush lasted a long time, he's torn about his study partner and first crush no longer being alive, he feels completely and utterly heartbroken.

Ron and Draco are trying their absolute best to stay positive, but they both cry together when things get hard, which is always.

Hermione spends her time in her dorm, sitting on your bed and trying to figure out if you're alive, but she gives up and sobs uncontrollably when she realises you're gone.

The school is torn apart, you were one of the most liked students, you were kind to everyone.

you were most of the teachers favourite student, there's not a single person in that school that isn't mourning. whether they're mourning you, or the other students and teachers.
