You're standing with Ginny, Luna, and Dean while Harry, Hermione and Ron are still out somewhere doing whatever it is they're doing.

you're waiting on the bridge for Neville who went to check if anyone's nearby outside the castle.

"what are you expecting from all of this?" Ginny asks. "a fight, a big one, but we've had practice... i think we can handle this" you respond. "you're too positive..." Dean says stiffly. "positivity is a good thing" Luna smiles.

you hear a faint rumbling, random swooshes and light switches. you step forward and look out into the dark distance, squinting your eyes and seeing Neville run towards you. "they're here! they broke the barrier! they got in! run!"

Luna, Dean and Ginny start running, but you wait for Neville and reach out for his hand, pulling him with you. The Death Eaters behind you throw curses toward the both of you, but you both block them all, throwing spells back.

You run into the castle, all of you yelling at students for warning. "They're here, get inside!" you shout, the others shouting the same things.

McGonagall rushes people inside, students all running while you and Neville stop and start blocking curses. "stupefy!" you shout, sending a few Death Eaters flying at once. You run inside with Neville's hand in yours, parts of the building starting to crumble.

You're watching your home get demolished, the place you've been here for a year, the place you've made your new life in.

You turn to see Harry, Hermione and Ron run towards you, "hey! the death eaters got in" you say in distress. Hermione looks over to see a poor girl being preyed on by a werewolf. "Stupefy!" she shouts, throwing the person off.

She rushes over to see the girl is Lavender Brown, dead as she could be on the ground. As much as she didn't like her, it makes her sad to see someone she knew from school lifeless.

You all start fighting off the death eaters, everyone running around like crazy. you look around for that one person but there's no sign of him on your side or the other side. you keep fighting as you all run into the building, following all the students up the stairs.

"Reducto!" Ginny shouts, making the roof behind all of you fall down so the Death Eaters can't follow. You all rush up the steps, "what now?" you ask.

"we need to get everyone into the same area, ensure we are all safe" Harry says in a deep breath. "where?" "slytherins are in the dungeons... so we can't go there, some of them can't be trusted".

"Room of requirement?" you suggest. "not big enough... we need to gather everyone into the great hall but we just blocked that area off" "you need to cause a diversion Harry. a distraction while we get everyone down there" you suggest almost demandingly.

"alright... Hermione, Ron and i will do that. you five take students down to the hall and fight off any Death Eaters, werewolves, dementors... whatever on the way" "alright".

Harry, Ron and Hermione run the other way, planning to cause a distraction large enough to get all the Death Eaters attention.

You all lead students down the stairs, finding a way through the broken down roof Ginny caused to make your way to the great hall. You all guide them there when you see just the person you were looking for.

he looks distraught, tired, a mess to be honest. "you guys go, i need to do something" Ginny nods while you notice Draco lock eyes with you.

You both instantly run toward eachother without hesitation or second thoughts.

When you reach him your hands grab onto his face, cupping his cheeks. "are you okay?" you ask out of breath, your clothes covered in dirt.

"i'm okay, are you?" "yes... what are you doing here?" "i was looking for you" he moves a strand of your hair out of your face, looking behind you to see the fighting.

"are you fighting with us or against us?" you ask to his surprise, him being caught off guard by that question. "im meant to be... fighting with them"

"Draco... i need to tell you something okay? i promise i'm not lying to get you to fight with us, but i'd really like if you did"

"alright... we don't have much time, what is it you needed to say?" your heart beats rapidly in your chest. you can feel your stomach in your toes, all your nerves building up.

"y/n...?" you look up into his eyes, biting down on your lip softly.

"Draco... i love you..."

aa. i just spent 7 hours reading "Dear Draco" and i am officially in tears. such a great book with such a range of different emotions to give the person reading, it was perfectly executed. i 100% recommend reading it, it is such a great book!

also side note: once again, i've addressed this multiple times again and again, the plot is not supposed to be the same as the movies. this is a FANFICTION, it's a made up plot with some scenes from the movies. i get so many comments asking "but wasn't this supposed to happen?" "but they're not in that house" "they wouldn't do that" etc, i'm clearly this up again, the plot is not meant to be the same. not everything that happened in the movies will happen in this. i'm keeping it mostly draco content since it's a draco book :)))
