STONED

Chapter Nineteen

Audrey was really upset about the incident that took place a night before. she was embarrassed in going to her office too. she scared about people and what will they think of her now. she was nervous. so when she went straight into her cabin without making any eye contact with anyone, just minding her own business. but Ray was watching her and he was loving it. he liked her in a vulnerable condition. this was the time he could take advantage of her. now he had the chance and there was no way he was going to lose it. he had put in a lot of efforts to bring her to this position- arranging the meeting with Mr. Meyers about firing Chris and then going to her house for dinner and then letting it slip 'accidentally'  when it was all planned. now seeing his plan succeed he was extremely happy.

he made an excuse and called her into his cabin. she was just so much into her own then for sometime she didn't even realized what was going to happen? she could wish about the future. this one incident is going turn her life upside down forever. he could see that she was disturbed by everything and he started by taking her mind off her personal matters. he said "your still upset about everything that happened?"

she replied in denial, he said "oh! come on i can see it in your eyes you cannot hide it from me. i know you feel bad but everything is going to be fine. "

she said "i just wish i could help him some way or the other. its just feels so bad. i feel really really bad and confused."

he suggested "you know what the company where Chris works, the owner of that place is an old buddy of mine i can make some calls if you want me to."

her face was lighted with hope "if you could do that i'll be indebted to you for my life."

he said "of course i will do that for you but you would have to return the favor for me whenever, where ever and whatever i want. do you think you'd be able to it?"

she said "if in within my reach i will give up my life to do it."

he said "oh its so within your reach."

she felt muddled "i don't understand you. what do you mean?"

she had to pay a price for the favor she was getting from Ray. he never deals in loss. his plan was on its last stage and all he needed was a yes from her. he couldn't control himself around her. he leaned towards her to kiss and she pushed him away like a good wife should "what are you doing?"

he said "this is the price, the favor i want in return of getting him a job."

she said "no way. i can't believe myself i thought you were my friend and this...oh my god you are disgusting piece of shit." she raised her hand to slap him hard. he held her hand.

he said "easy now Missy...let me tell you one thing you think you are so smart and that your husband will get another job well, guess what baby girl the minute you reject my proposal i will make sure that he remains jobless for the rest of his life and i am sure you will also try to take a step against me go ahead you are most welcome to do it but then don't hide yourself when i make you fall from your dignity. then when you crawling back to me, i'll see if i can take you in or not. get out, take your time and think it through. i'll be eagerly waiting on you."

she stepped outside broken, walked to her cabin and cried the whole noon. she didn't know what to do, whatever Ray said inside was going through her mind. she couldn't come to a conclusion of all this but when she saw her family picture on her desk, the decision was clear. she said to herself "i cannot risk the happiness of my family. i have to let that go and go throught with it." during lunch she went to her cabin and said "my answer is yes" 

this is what he had been expecting all along. his plan was successful, just as he thought.
